HIMSS is seeking a highly motivated Senior Sales Executive – Public Sector to drive growth and strategic partnerships across government and public healthcare organizations. In this role, you will lead consultative sales efforts for HIMSS’s broad portfolio including advisory, analytics, professional development, insights, and membership products, helping public sector organizations accelerate their digital health transformation journeys. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who understands the US and state level government healthcare landscape and is passionate about helping agencies, public health systems, and publicly funded healthcare providers leverage workforce, process and technology assets to improve care delivery and outcomes. What you will be doing: - Lead consultative sales engagements with government agencies, public health organizations, and publicly funded healthcare providers across North America - Identify and develop new business opportunities for HIMSS portfolio, including advisory, analytics, professional development, insights, and membership products - Build strong relationships with executive leaders, public health officials, and healthcare technology decision-makers within the public sector - Partner with clients to understand strategic priorities, operational challenges, and digital health goals, positioning HIMSS solutions to support measurable transformation - Collaborate with strategic partners and internal teams to develop go-to-market strategies and drive revenue growth - Expand existing relationships by identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell HIMSS portfolio products and services - Represent HIMSS at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements to strengthen relationships and build pipeline - Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting through Salesforce - Stay informed on public-sector healthcare trends, regulatory developments, and policy changes that impact the healthcare technology landscape What You Bring, - Bachelor’s degree preferred - 10+ years of successful sales experience, preferably selling healthcare IT, analytics, or consulting services - Experience selling into US public sector healthcare organizations, including government agencies, public health systems, or publicly funded healthcare providers - Experience selling into state Medicaid agencies, public health departments, federal health agencies, VA systems, Department of Defense, or government-funded healthcare organizations strongly preferred - Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to engage C-suite and executive-level stakeholders - Experience navigating complex sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decision environments - Proven ability to build trusted relationships and develop strategic accounts - Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills - Experience using CRM platforms (such as Salesforce) to manage sales pipeline and client engagement - Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Ability to travel 25%, including attendance at the HIMSS Global Conference, local HIMSS Chapter meetings, customer engagements and at least one sales meeting annually - Please note eligible states for candidates to be located in: AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI Why we love HIMSS, and why you will too! - Diverse, collaborative, and winning team environment. - Flexible working arrangements, opportunity to work remote or hybrid. - Comprehensive healthcare coverage. - Generous paid time off, including unlimited vacation days, time off to volunteer, and more!
