Role Description The Director, APAC Transportation & Logistics drives competitive business advantage by delivering tailored and innovative solutions in transportation and logistics across the APAC region. This role is responsible for: - Identifying spend categories for corporate Logistics commodity management. - Executing strategies that result in cost reduction, process and quality improvements. - Supporting integration projects for new acquisitions. - Managing an estimated $100 million per year in transportation and logistics spend, supporting global strategies. - Supporting projects associated with new acquisitions and divestitures. This position is part of the Corporate Procurement team and will be in Singapore or remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Drive regional & global transportation and logistics cost-saving projects and strategies aligned with global objectives. - Analyze spend, pricing, and market trends to provide guidance and decision support. - Use DBS tools to implement process improvements and cost optimization. - Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics to ensure compliance and quality. - Identify, select, and manage preferred suppliers; negotiate and implement agreements. - Partner with operating companies and site operations to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment. - Maintain robust communication with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure strategy adoption. - Create, prepare and execute tenders, create and maintain standard work documentation. Qualifications - Undergraduate degree in supply chain, business management or operations. - Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in operational supply chain or logistics. - Experience in managing global transport & logistics suppliers in decentralized/matrixed environments. - Leading cross-functional teams and projects to drive cost savings initiatives. - Implementing global & regional strategic and tactical solutions. - Maintaining current knowledge and sharing information about industry and global best practices. - Full proficiency in use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and other analytical tools. - Evaluating regional marketplace trends and providing price and budget guidance to operating companies for targeted spend or transportation mode categories. - Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to executive teams. Requirements - Ability to work independently & comfortably in ambiguous situations. - Proven track record of achieving results. - English is required; additional language skills are beneficial. - Experience in Transport Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, Trade compliance and Freight Audit and Pay solutions.
