Job Description Summary The Educating Character Initiative (ECI), an initiative of the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University, seeks a lead Program Officer to join its grantmaking team. The Program Officer will serve as liaison between grantee teams and the Educating Character Initiative, providing vital support to their efforts to execute character-building efforts aligned with each team’s distinctive institutional context and coordinating grant stewardship, including conducting twice-yearly check-ins and ensuring effective grant reporting and accountability from all open grants. The Program Officer will play a crucial role in offering perspective for the ECI team, understanding emerging and ongoing patterns of successes and challenges in character education efforts across the ECI grant portfolio, and helping to ensure alignment between grantees and ECI’s vision to catalyze a movement of character education in higher education. Since its launch, with generous funding from Lilly Endowment Inc., the ECI has built a community of character among over 2,000 individuals and 700 organizations and institutions; hosted educational and community-building webinars, conferences, convenings and other events; and become a significant presence in character education around the world. The ECI has also awarded over $35 million in grants to our partners at U.S. colleges and universities, and we anticipate funding up to an additional $15 million in institutional grants in 2026. Through these awards, the Educating Character Initiative expects to maintain a portfolio of over 100 open grants for at least the next two years and perhaps beyond. Individual grants range from $50,000 to $1M, and anchor institutions represent the full diversity of U.S. higher education, including institutions that are both public and private, secular and faith-based, 2- and 4-year, large and small, diverse in population, location, and mission. The Program Officer will provide crucial support for and partnership with principal investigators and teams supported by all grants. The right candidate for the position will have the ability to be organized and responsible in the midst of complexity, a valuable collaborator to a fast-paced and dynamic team, and an ambassador of hospitality to our growing ECI Community, serving as a present and engaging thought partner across a wide range of projects and aims in character education. The position is grant-funded and currently supported through June 2029. Job Description Essential Functions: The Program Officer role will include activities and responsibilities in grants management and stewardship as well as in service of ECI community building and collective learning efforts. Responsibilities The Project Manager—Heavy Maintenance reports to the Senior Manager, Airframe Supplier Operations, and is responsible for overseeing work performed on Spirit Airlines aircraft, engine, accessories, and components during induction, essential maintenance (Heavy Maintenance Checks), or other maintenance activities at contract maintenance vendors/agencies. The incumbent in this role may work remotely when not traveling to support business needs (up to 50% travel, including international). - Serves as the primary quality liaison between Spirit Tech Ops and the Essential Maintenance Provider (EMP). - Reviews and approves all non-routines generated during inspections, modifications, repairs, etc., for method of corrections, estimated labor, and materials. - Assists in investigative activities in partnership with the EMP. - Assists in process improvements with the EMP to drive improvements in quality, span, and cost. - Continuously monitors the quality, status, and cost of the work in progress. - Monitors workmanship and materials used during maintenance to verify compliance with applicable Spirit Airlines requirements and standards, and FAA regulations. - Assures that the aircraft paperwork associated with the work in progress is properly executed and compliant. - Advises Maintenance Control of the arrival and departure status of the aircraft that is in check. - Coordinates the readiness for maintenance performed by the maintenance provider with Fleet Planning Material Services and the maintenance planning. This includes the work package and pre-draw material with the Essential Maintenance Provider prior to aircraft delivery. - Arranges for appropriate paperwork i.e., Test Flights, Ferry flights, and other required aircraft documentation. - Liaisons with the Materials Department, Engineering, MX Programs, Aircraft Records, and Planning for production continuity and recommend corrective actions. - Administers maintenance work scopes, as required. - Advises the contractor (145 Repair Station) of impending changes requested by Maintenance Planning or Maintenance Administration and vice-versa. - Assists in ensuring that the aircraft paperwork associated with the work in progress is properly executed and compliant. - Maintains a professional positive working relationship with the contractor (145 Repair Station). - Performs all duties as applicable within the scope of the company-approved and accepted manuals including the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance and/or overhaul manuals, and the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Airworthiness Directives (Ads) as applicable. - Reviews and completely understands the Spirit General Maintenance Manual. - Reviews and completely understands the Airworthiness Agreement document generated for each maintenance provider. - May perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager, Airframe Supplier & Operations. Job Description Passion for Life is seeking a volunteer Project Manager. This is a great role to obtain PDUs or project management experience. The Project Manager will support the team leaders and team in overseeing and managing projects and initiatives. This role develops, coordinates, and implements project tasks and activities. Role Responsibilities: - Creating Projects in Asana - Assists the team leader and teams in creating projects and subtasks (steps to achieve the project) - Managing and Communicating Within Projects - Assists team leader by coordinating project tasks to ensure all project milestones are achieved. Frequently follows up with team members to check progress on tasks being performed by the project teams especially those that are overdue or unassigned. - Communicates project activities to team members and PFL’s organization project manager (Director of Project Management). - Create and maintain team meeting minutes and manage the meetings' project progress and status reports segment. Disseminate meeting recap after each team meeting, assembling any required documentation for projects in Asana. - Report Project Status - Updates project status on Asana and sends updates stakeholders. - Complete and maintain the monthly progress report to share in company meetings. Qualifications Desired Skills: - Leadership skills - Ability to prioritize and manage work against critical project timelines - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to juggle multiple priorities - Proven experience in identifying, analyzing, problem-solving and responding to internal and external opportunities and challenges with the ability to translate these into practical plans of action - Ability to lead and work collaboratively and support others in the development and implementation of agreed strategies within team and wider organizational contexts - Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work well with others - Collaborate on projects as both a team leader and a team member - Must possess initiative and creativity; a highly developed work ethic Additional Information Qualifications - One year of project coordination or management experience (required) Time Commitment: 8 hours weekly for 6 months Note: Please apply if your current location is USA (Central and EST), other locations are not eligible
