• Design and maintain scalable star schemas within our SQL Server data warehouse, ensuring clarity and long-term maintainability • Define and rigorously enforce grain discipline across all fact tables • Architect and optimize Power BI semantic (Tabular) models for cross-company usage • Define, formalize, and document core business KPIs across Revenue, Conversion, Retention, Payments, and Finance • Establish and fully own a governed metric layer managed by BI • Create and maintain a structured KPI registry with approved measures, dimensions, and filters • Design the semantic layer to enable controlled AI access to metrics—without exposing raw tables or ambiguous logic • Ensure AI tools can safely and consistently answer analytical questions using governed definitions • Improve dataset performance through aggregations, partitioning, and incremental refresh strategies • Eliminate metric duplication and resolve conflicting definitions across reports • Provide architectural guidance to analysts building on top of the semantic layer • Contribute to long-term BI platform and analytics architecture decisions
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI Architecture, or advanced BI development
- Deep expertise in dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology, star schemas, fact/dimension design, grain definition)
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI semantic models (Tabular, measures, relationships, perspectives)
- Advanced SQL skills with strong performance awareness
- Proven experience designing and governing metric layers in production environments
- A systems-thinking mindset with structured, architectural discipline
- Experience building analytics foundations that scale across multiple departments
- Clear communication skills and the ability to document complex logic with precision

Role Overview The Senior Technical Consultant – Data Analytics & Dashboarding is a senior individual contributor and client-facing role responsible for: - Translating business questions into analytical solutions - Designing and implementing data models, analytics workflows, and dashboards - Advising clients on analytics best practices, data visualization, and self-service BI - Leading small teams and mentoring junior analysts/consultants You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand requirements, shape solutions, and deliver high-quality analytics products and dashboards that support mission-critical decisions. Key Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end analytics engagements, from requirements gathering to production deployment and user adoption. - Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand objectives, KPIs, and data sources; translate into robust analytical and dashboard requirements. - Design and build dashboards and reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar) that provide clear, intuitive, and actionable insights. - Develop and maintain data models, data transformations, and ETL/ELT pipelines supporting analytics and business intelligence use cases. - Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), data profiling, and data quality assessment; recommend improvements to data structures and processes. - Apply statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies and to support forecasting, performance measurement, and root-cause analysis. - Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, accessibility, and scalability; establish and promote visualization standards and best practices. - Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to deliver integrated data solutions. - Document solution designs, data lineage, dashboard logic, and business rules in a clear and maintainable way. - Provide expert guidance and advisory services on data analytics strategy, governance, tool selection, and self-service BI enablement. - Lead and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and code reviews. - Support pre-sales and business development activities (e.g., solution design, LOEs, demos, and proposal content) when required. - Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to client engagements.
