Electrical Engineer

**What you'll do:** - Provide technical direction and support during the development, construction, commissioning, and operation of renewable energy assets. - Ensure all projects meet design standards and maintain high-quality engineering designs. - Collaborate with customers, utilities, AHJs, and third-party consultants to support the design and engineering of complex projects. - Stay abreast of industry developments, new project requirements, and emerging trends to inform project strategies. - Share technical knowledge by coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout various project phases. - Deliver design, modeling, and technical support from initial customer solution designs through to successful project implementation and operation. - Model and optimize engineering designs, review engineering studies (load flow and short circuit analysis), create networking designs for site communication to meet project specifications and regulatory standards. - Create preliminary 1-line for projects in development to depict equipment sizing and interconnection topologies. - Provide technical support to O&M team for operational systems.
Job Requirements
- Who you are:**
- BSEE with a passion for power systems and renewable energy or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in power generation including MV distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, codes, and standards.
- Experience with Battery storage systems (BESS) with or without PV projects coupled.
- Knowledge on Interconnection Application requirement in multiple ISOs.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A lifelong learner committed to staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape.
- Requirements:**
- At least 5 years of professional experience working in the renewables and environment industry, with a focus on developing and implementing solutions that accelerate the energy transition.
- Familiarity of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures.
- Experience with energy generation technologies including one or more of the following: solar, wind, battery storage, geothermal, biomass, fuel cells, EV charging.
- Working autonomously on deadline-driven projects, your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will ensure on-time delivery to stakeholders.
- Effectively manage multiple projects, consulting engineers and vendors, negotiate contracts and oversee schedules of deliverables
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Recommended extras**
- Professional Engineering license, EIT or PE track.
- Field experience commissioning distributed generation equipment.
- Experience designing distributed generation, isochronous grids.
