The Senior Software Engineer – QE will play a key leadership role in a major migration project for collections platforms, overseeing quality engineering activities across multiple crews. This position requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on leadership to ensure successful testing and integration across complex systems. The role involves managing test strategy, execution, and automation while coordinating across teams and resolving impediments. Key Responsibilities: • Test Strategy & Planning: ○ Define and document the test strategy for the migration project, including scope, objectives, approach, and methods of testing. ○ Create and maintain detailed test plans specifying activities, tasks, deliverables, schedules, environment management, and test data coordination across all applications. • Execution & Leadership: ○ Host and manage triage calls, removing impediments and ensuring smooth progress for QE teams. ○ Maintain all required documentation, including strategy and summary approaches. • Automation & Frameworks: ○ Utilize QFAAS framework for automation and create scripts using Karate and Cucumber. ○ Drive automation best practices and continuous improvement in testing processes. • Database & Tools Expertise: ○ Develop and execute DB queries for Oracle and MSSQL databases; knowledge of MongoDB is a plus. ○ Proficient in JIRA for creating dashboards, reports, and managing workflows. Qualifications: • Experience: ○ Experience in large-scale migration projects. ○ Strong background in test strategy, planning, and execution for complex systems. ○ Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Karate, Cucumber) and QFAAS. • Skills: ○ Expertise in SQL (Oracle, MSSQL); MongoDB knowledge preferred. ○ Proficiency in JIRA for reporting and dashboards. ○ Strong leadership and communication skills to manage distributed teams and stakeholders. ○ Strategic thinker with ability to execute under tight timelines. ○ Strong problem-solving and triage capabilities. ○ Passion for quality, automation, and continuous improvement. Job Description The Aviation Solutions Division provides direct project support for programs and platforms at Patuxent River Air Base and Webster Field Base in Southern Maryland. System aircraft design and development tasking drives projects for equipment removal and replacement, complex cable harness fabrication, aircraft installation efforts, and lab testing development integration. The Division Program Manager is currently searching for qualified and experienced candidates to join the Aviation Solution team to expand capabilities and provide operational excellence to the both the customer and war fighter. The program is currently searching for a qualified Avionic Technician III to join the operational team. The selected candidate modifies, fabricates and builds equipment and subassemblies working from layout diagrams, schematics, wire boards, and verbal instructions. The technician will install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, navigation, and control systems in aircraft. The technician will assist in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing systems, hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections. Integration efforts will be performed within full-scale production manufacturing operations and include tasks such as production fabrication for electronic, mechanical, electromechanical assemblies. Additional tasking capabilities will include quality assurance CDI training and experience and pin-out verification testing, having the ability to follow established methods and procedures, and effective time management for production scheduling and control. The technician must be proficient with coordinating, planning, and expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within a warehouse and production facility environment. Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments such as, forklift certification, solder certification, connector and back shell termination compliance, understanding the 505 Aircraft Integration manual guidance, fall protection, hazmat training, and tool control processes. The qualified candidate will assist with integration efforts both local and during travel to support harness and equipment removal and replacement for final terminations and verification testing. Avionic Technician III level operations resources should be self-reliable and follow supervision guidance during installation and integration tasking. The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $28.79/hr. This position is located in the scenic and historic Southern Maryland area of St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
