T3 Operations Specialist – Network & Security

Interval Group

• Tier-3 Network & Security Ownership: Resolve complex connectivity and security-related incidents, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation across the network and security stack. • Operational Readiness: Ensure readiness for network/security changes by managing monitoring/alerting, validation steps, rollback strategies, and runbooks. • Technical Coordination: Collaborate with Kubernetes, Data, and Storage SMEs to resolve cross-domain production issues and application impacts caused by network constraints. • Automation: Reduce operational toil and improve stability by automating standard operational procedures and remedial processes. • Compliance Consulting: Advise on operational controls, including logging/monitoring evidence, access enforcement patterns, and vulnerability handling coordination. • Deployment Validation: Define and enforce quality assurance measures and documentation for deployment artifacts to ensure high-quality service delivery. • Security Enforcement: Implement logging strategies to support audit requirements and perform routine security scans to remediate vulnerabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Senior-level professional with 5+ years of experience operating enterprise networks (WAN/LAN, routers, firewalls) in private cloud or data centre environments.
  • Proficiency in both speech and writing in English (at least C1).
  • Proficiency in both speech and writing in German (at least C1).
  • Proven incident response skills across routing, firewalling, connectivity, and service exposure patterns.
  • Expertise in DNS operations and certificate lifecycle management (issuance, renewal, and rotation).
  • Strong background in Incident, Problem, Change, and Release governance (ITSM).
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, and Loki.
  • Familiarity with GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts (Terraform, OpenTofu, ArgoCD) for governing deployment standards.
  • Expertise in modern platform operations (Kubernetes/containers) sufficient to govern technical specialists.
  • Experience with ITSM toolsets including Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira, and Confluence.

What you will bring: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure, particularly in innovation lab or cloud development environments. - Extensive knowledge of security controls, protocols, and best practices across on-premises and cloud environments. - Strong expertise in AWS and Azure, including architecture, security, and automation capabilities. - Hands-on experience with IaC tools with a focus on Terraform. - Proficiency in Python. - Experience building, tuning, and operating detections using cloud-native tools (GuardDuty, Security Hub) and SIEM platforms (Splunk). - Ability to investigate cloud logs (CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, audit logs). - Strong understanding of least privilege IAM design, role-based access, service accounts, and federated identity. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Cloud Platform, DevOps, SRE, and Engineering teams.
