Project Manager – Start-up

A-Level Capital

• You are responsible for planning, tracking and documenting all project-related tasks in close collaboration with the team, while keeping schedules and priorities in view. • You are in charge of the administrative organization and smooth scheduling of our events (entirely digital – no on-site presence or creative participation required). • You manage structured alignment and timely coordination of all involved internal and external stakeholders as part of event preparation. • You ensure continuous process optimization and the maintenance of high quality standards to guarantee smooth event execution. • You contribute to optimizing our processes and make sure our events are planned and executed even more efficiently. IMPORTANT: This role is primarily a project management position rather than a traditional event management role.

Job Requirements

  • You have completed vocational training or a university degree.
  • You bring at least 2 years of professional experience in project management or a comparable field.
  • You have very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
  • You remain calm under pressure and demonstrate flexibility and improvisational skills when working under tight deadlines.
  • You have excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work outside regular business hours and on weekends.

The Team: Upstart’s Capital Markets team plays a key role in securing funding for our AI lending marketplace. The team partners with institutional investors across a range of financing solutions, including securitizations, whole loan sales, co-investment partnerships, and structured transactions. Within Capital Markets, the Structured Products team leads Upstart’s securitization and financing programs. The team partners closely with investment banks, institutional investors, and internal stakeholders to design and execute funding structures that support new and existing products. As the Capital Markets Manager - Structured Products at Upstart, you will drive execution across securitization and warehouse programs while helping bring new products to market. You will work at the intersection of structuring, investor engagement, and product innovation—translating complex data into clear narratives that support investment decisions. How you’ll make an impact - Drive execution of Upstart’s securitization issuance and asset-backed financing strategy across multiple products - Structure and model asset-backed transactions, including reviewing collateral performance and bond cashflows - Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, lenders, and banking partners - Lead investor discussions, including presenting new products and opportunities with limited historical performance data - Partner with legal, operations, analytics, and accounting to execute transactions and ensure alignment across stakeholders - Present transaction updates, market insights, and funding strategies to senior leadership - Support development of junior team members through coaching and guidance Minimum Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in capital markets, structured finance, investment banking, or a related field - Experience structuring and executing asset-backed securities (ABS) or other structured finance transactions - Experience building and reviewing asset-level and bond-level cashflow models - Experience presenting investment opportunities, transaction structures, or financial products to institutional investors - Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience) Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with new or emerging financial products with limited historical performance data - Knowledge of unsecured consumer lending or similar asset classes - Experience working in a fintech or technology-enabled financial services environment - Ability to translate complex data into clear investment narratives for external audiences - MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote, with preference of NYC or San Francisco Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location.
