Field Service Engineer – Power Conversion

• Prepare and organize missions in coordination with project and technical support teams • Perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive and corrective maintenance • Supervise complex site activities and coordinate on-site stakeholders • Ensure technical compliance and quality of interventions • Act as the primary technical interface with the customer • Prepare intervention reports and ensure contractual deliverables • Contribute to continuous improvement through feedback and lessons learned • Identify opportunities for improvement or additional services • Support and mentor new team members

Job Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or equivalent technical background
  • Strong expertise in electrotechnics, industrial electrical systems, medium-voltage drives and power converters, as well as control and automation systems.
  • Ability to work on high-power systems
  • Autonomous, rigorous, and customer-oriented
  • English is mandatory
  • French is a plus
  • High mobility (approximately 80% travel in France and internationally)
  • Experience in industrial site interventions is preferred

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is a professional who provides valuable services to our customers by conducting onsite field visits. Role Description Opportunity for remote work (requires some travel) for an independent and self-motivated safety professional. The successful candidate will: - Partner with Corporate EH&S Manager, Division Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations Field Personnel to ensure hydroelectric project facility compliance with Company Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and risk reduction protocols and procedures. - Lead, manage and enforce environmental, health, and safety on several hydroelectric dam and powerhouse facilities. - Identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using sound judgement and cooperative approaches. - Manage annual training requirements in collaboration with Corporate EH&S Manager and Division/Regional Management. - Assist in coordinating training and proactively identify opportunities for improved training and culture steering. While this position is advertised as remote, we are only considering candidates currently residing in Albany, NY, Middletown, NY, or Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA areas due to the travel expectation associated with the role. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. - At least three (3) years of environmental, health, and safety experience OR equivalent mix of education and experience. - A minimum of OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training. - Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques is required. - Demonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions. - Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others. - Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs. - Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required (travel time 30-50%).
