Admissions and Career Transition Counselor

• Recruit eligible youth for Job Corps Program • Conduct outreach activities in communities, agencies, American Job Centers, and public events • Responsible for meeting departmental and center goals and objectives • Conduct orientation and interviews with applicants including parents in the case of minors • Perform applicant files procedures (data entry, scan documents on e-file) • Participate in departmental meetings • Coordinate with centers to support applicants in travel arrangements • Perform Quality Assurance Checks on all applicant files • Assess graduates/former trainees' placement readiness, and provide appropriate referrals and support services • Ensure timely placement and retention of assigned graduates and former enrollees in quality jobs, the military, or further education and training opportunities • Promote job development through direct contact with employers, One-Stops, JTPA, and State Employment Agencies • Clearly communicate and model appropriate CSS and employability skills • Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property • Adhere to safety practices in all areas of responsibility • Foster a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field
  • Two years related experience
  • Above average public speaking skills and experience
  • Above average verbal and written skills
  • Above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Computer literacy; specifically, Internet, e-mail, and Word Perfect/MS WORD
  • Ability to work some evening hours and periodic weekends
  • Ability to travel periodically
  • Four years’ experience working with youths ages 16-24

Role Description Cogstate Clinicians are clinical psychologists or neuropsychologists responsible for delivering remote clinical interviews and cognitive assessment batteries to subjects with preclinical dementia, enrolled in a pharmaceutical clinical trial. Cogstate provides all consultants with comprehensive, fully compensated training on: - General Cogstate operational policies - Study-specific procedures - Customized clinical interviewing skills - Virtual cognitive assessment Regular supervision and ongoing recalibration of clinical skill set will be provided. - These are contract positions. - They are fully remote. - Hired employees will work on an as-needed basis based on their schedule. Key Responsibilities - Remotely administering semi-structured clinical interview assessments and cognitive battery of tests to study subjects and caregivers. - Remotely delivering computerized and traditional cognitive assessments via a tele-health platform. - Scoring completed scale administrations. - Participating in regular clinical skill recalibration activities. - Providing reviews of completed neuropsychological test batteries for central monitoring of data to ensure accuracy in administration and scoring and contribute to the overall success of a clinical trial. - Reviewing response forms and recordings of remote scale administrations and offering feedback to raters via email and telephone communications. Qualifications - Master’s or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology/neuropsychology/behavioral neurology, or related field. - Formal training in clinical interviewing and cognitive assessment. - Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with direct clinical interviewing and psychological assessment in clinical research industry, academic or clinical settings. - Direct experience with cognitive/behavioral/functional assessment of neurological/psychiatric populations. - Ability to meet deadlines, being highly organized and methodical, with attention to detail to ensure delivery. - Proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Excel, email, teleconference platforms such as Skype, Zoom or other similar applications, and cloud-based storage service. - Cantonese Fluency.
