We’re seeking a dedicated Bilingual CRAFFT Trainer to empower and support resource, kinship, adoptive, and foster families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Bilingual CRAFFT Trainer supports local agencies' efforts in training and developing resource, kinship, adoptive, and foster families in the commonwealth of Virginia in partnership with the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS). This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering pre-service and in-service training in collaboration with the CRAFFT team statewide while ensuring services are accessible to non English speaking families. Additionally, this position supports the home study process by completing Bilingual Mutual Family Assessments (MFA) as needed to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children in Virginia’s child welfare system. Tasks & Responsibilities: - Collaborate with regional CRAFFT Coordinators to accept referrals for pre-service training from Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS) - Provide pre-service and inservice training in Spanish (and English as needed) for prospective kinship, foster, and adoptive parents using designated approved VDSS curricula (e.g., NTDC) - Create process and coordinate pre-service and inservice training for all non english speaking families with CRAFFT coordinators and local DSS agencies to ensure accessibility and appropriate language resource provision - Facilitate group and one-on-one pre-service training in Spanish (and English as needed), including scheduled series and make-up sessions - Develop flexible training schedules to accommodate families’ diverse needs (daytime, evening, weekend, and creative scheduling) - Maintain a weekly and monthly calendar of training; document all scheduled, completed, and cancelled sessions - Attend and present information as needed at regularly scheduled regional roundtable meetings with LDSS staff and stakeholders to provide resources regarding resource parent development and training - Work with CRAFFT Program Manager and coordinators to support statewide CRAFFT initiatives and special projects - Complete as needed the entire home study process for kinship care, foster care and adoption, including the completion of Mutual Family Assessments (MFA) in Spanish (and English as needed) - Attend and observe prospective families in pre-service training to follow up on issues or concerns raised by trainers or agency staff. - Create process and coordinate MFA for all non english speaking families with MFA Supervisors and local DSS agencies to ensure accessibility and appropriate language resource provision - Submit written reports as required - Participate in monthly conference calls and travel as needed to attend statewide meetings and trainings - Other duties as assigned Special Requirements - Occasional travel throughout Virginia is required and is on an as needed basis - This is a telework position that requires a flexible schedule, including frequent night and weekend work to accommodate family training and assessment needs Salary commensurate with experience Grant Funded, Restricted position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications - Must be fluent in English and Spanish with the ability to conduct professional training and write comprehensive assessments in both languages - Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience - Minimum of two years of experience in child welfare within a public or private setting - Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams) - Proven experience delivering engaging presentations - Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU Preferred Qualifications - Prior employment with a local DSS as a Resource Family, Foster Care, Adoptions, or CPS Worker - Extensive experience facilitating training for kinship/foster/adoptive parents and writing home assessments - Master's degree is highly preferred Benefits: All full-time university staff are eligible for VCU’s robust benefits package that includes comprehensive health benefits, paid annual and holiday leave, generous tuition benefits, retirement planning and savings options, tax-deferred annuity and cash match programs, employee discounts, well-being resources, abundant opportunities for career development and advancement, and more. Role Description Form Health is currently seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian Diabetes Specialist to join our cardiometabolic team. The Registered Dietitian will be responsible for providing individualized, ongoing, comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to patients through our telehealth platform. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with flexible schedule options. - Work closely with Form Health obesity medicine physicians and endocrinologists, PAs and NPs to provide intensive, ongoing medical nutrition therapy support to patients via regular video visits. - Establish a professional and effective relationship with all patients, being non-judgmental and using interpersonal skills to connect with patients, providing comprehensive, empathetic, and evidence-based care. - Create customized nutrition plans for patients based on their individual needs. - Provide nutrition education and counseling around diabetes self-management (primarily Type 2 Diabetes), healthy eating, and behavior change. - Act as a clinical specialist in diabetes including data interpretation with the use of Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) or glucometers. - Support patients with complex co-morbidities including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Cardiovascular conditions. - Review and offer feedback on patients’ daily food photos. - Support patients in between visits via daily text messaging in the Form Health app. - Work to grow and enhance our cardiometabolic program in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Qualifications - Registered Dietitian with at least 3-5 years experience in counseling, behavior modification techniques, and working with patients with diabetes (primarily Type 2 Diabetes). - Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) highly preferred. - Experience working in medical weight loss, with patients on weight loss medication, using meal replacement plans, leading support groups, and strong cognitive-behavioral therapy counseling techniques.
