Our Story Endear is the CRM built for retail teams. We help brands like Reformation, Fabletics, and Gorjana turn customer relationships into revenue through AI-powered tools that surface the right outreach, to the right customer, at the right time. Retail is 6x larger than eCommerce, but most software treats the in-store experience as an afterthought. We don't. Our platform gives sales associates the context and intelligence they need to build real relationships at scale. Enterprise brands are actively moving to Endear from legacy platforms because we ship AI features faster and our data layer is purpose-built for retail. What you build ships to hundreds of brands and is used by tens of thousands of associates daily. Position Overview We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to sit at the intersection of our engineering and sales teams. This is a technical, customer-facing role where you'll own the full integration lifecycle, from pre-sales demos to live technical onboarding post-sales, while working closely with the engineering, Sales, AEs, CX, and product teams. What You’ll Do - Partner with AEs on discovery calls and technical demos, translating customer needs into viable integration scopes - Own customer onboarding end-to-end: scoping, building, and launching integrations across CSV/SFTP/Cloud pipelines, webhooks, and third-party platforms (Yotpo, Shopify, etc.) - Write and maintain technical documentation for integrations, both internal and customer-facing - Serve as the technical bridge between sales and engineering — triaging issues, surfacing product feedback, and flagging edge cases upstream - Handle inbound technical questions from prospects and existing customers during the sales cycle - Collaborate with AEs and CX to ensure smooth handoffs post-launch - Bring and discuss feature requests with our Product and Engineering teams What You’ll Accomplish In your first 6 months, you’ll… - Become an expert on Endear's platform capabilities and integration points - Successfully deliver 5+ customer-specific solutions that measurably improve key metrics - Establish strong relationships with customer stakeholders across multiple enterprise brands In your first year, you’ll… - Be seen as a trusted partner to our top customers, with demonstrated impact on revenue expansion metrics - Measurably improve our ability to rapidly deploy and configure Endear for new customers - Contribute reusable components, tools, and best practices that increase the leverage of the entire Customer Engineering function You’ll Thrive in This Role If… You Have Experience With - A forward deployed engineer, sales engineering, or solutions engineering role, ideally in an early stage tech startup - Explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and get on calls with customers without hand-holding - You'll represent the customer's needs clearly and professionally — while knowing how to scope requests so they don't become unbounded engineering problems - Being self-directed and comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment and capable of building 1→N - Our tech stack: - Reading and vibe-coding: Python, Node.js, SQL highly preferred. - Pipedream, n8n, or similar workflow automation tools - Claude Code, Cursor, or other AI-based development tools - Data pipelines, file-based imports (CSV), and webhook-based integrations - You don't need to be an expert but you should be able to build and debug integrations independently. Align With What We Value At Endear, we live by five core principles. Here’s how they translate into what we’re looking for in this role: - Customer First: Obsesses over customers' success with Endear. Always puts the customer's needs at the forefront of any solution. - Take Ownership: Drives projects end-to-end with minimal oversight. Proactive and self-directed. - Enable Autonomy: Builds solutions and processes that make our team and our customers more self-sufficient. - Under Promise, Over Deliver: Sets realistic expectations, communicates clearly about scope, and consistently delivers more than expected. - Innovate & Deliver Value Quickly: Bias toward action. Focus on pragmatic solutions that drive immediate customer value. Balances speed with quality to deliver meaningful business value. Nice to have - Retail, E-Commerce, or CRM experience is a strong plus - Familiarity with GraphQL APIs - Experience filling out RFPs and Security Questionnaires - Background in or passion for retail / luxury fashion About the Team You’ll partner most closely with: - CTO (JP Grace): Technical leadership, architecture, and strategic priorities. - Engineering Manager (Ini Becker): Team manager responsible for engineering delivery, team health, and development practices. - Sales: Identifying how technical solutions can help expand revenue at key accounts. - Customer Success: Partnering for smooth implementation handoff - Product: Translating customer needs into roadmap initiatives. We’re a small, fast-moving team. Everyone has high ownership, and your work will directly shape how Endear scales. Our Hiring Process - 20–30 minute screen with a recruiter - Behavioral interview with the CTO - Technical panel interview - Final conversation with the Executive Team - Offer 🎉 Compensation & Benefits - Base Salary: $95-135k, commensurate with experience - Fully remote team - Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, vision) - Co-working or home office stipend - Flexible PTO and unlimited vacation - Opportunity to shape foundational product work in a transformative industry Apply Even If You Don’t Check Every Box If this role excites you but you’re unsure if you meet every requirement, reach out anyway.
