Senior Accountant
Every
• Own the month-end and year-end close process end-to-end • Manage and reconcile bank accounts; match and apply payments • Handle accounts receivable, including revenue recognition • Prepare tax schedules for income tax filing and coordinate with external preparers • Supervise and direct Joe, a part-time accountant handling AP and general entries • Cross-collaborate with payroll, sales, and sales support to ensure accurate journal entries and financial data • Read and interpret financial statements; present findings to leadership • Identify issues proactively and flag them before they become problems - especially around deadlines
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5-8 years of accounting experience, ideally with time spent at a startup or high-growth company
- CPA required
- Strong QuickBooks proficiency
- Advanced Excel skills
- Solid understanding of payroll accounting (journal entries, not processing)
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements fluently (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Highly detail-oriented with a habit of catching things others miss
