BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring a Platform Engineer. In this fully remote role, you'll ensure the performance, security and durability of platforms (as well as maintaining the infrastructure and services required to support them). On-call rotation is part of the schedule for this team. Our ideal candidates will come with expertise in Windows and Linux systems administration along with hands-on experience in Ansible and Terraform. Proficiency in YAML and PowerShell scripting is required. Expertise in Nutanix technology (including AHV, Cluster Deployment, and Leap) is also required. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus; proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) is also preferred. Job Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required. - Equivalent years of experience are defined as 4 years of professional experience. Experience - 3 years of experience in an Information Technology role required. • Design, develop, and optimize data solutions within large-scale databases and big data ecosystems • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data architecture strategies • Manage and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration processes • Engage in complex enterprise-wide data projects by defining technical requirements, designing data models, implementing performance tuning strategies, and ensuring data quality and consistency • Develop and enforce best practices for database management, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization • Utilize Hadoop, HDFS, and Amazon Web Services in application architecture designs

• Support the roll out and maintenance of a large, federated, multi-service Data and AI platform • Focus on building secure, scalable, and cost-optimised cloud infrastructure • Implement governance and enable advanced data services

• Drive technical decisions regarding infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform architecture to ensure long-term scalability. • Lead the charge on system reliability and performance. • Develop and support internal team tooling • Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues as part of a shared on-call rotation. You take an active role in ensuring the operational health and stability of the system as a whole. • Mentor and support your peers, including through compassionate code review.
