Role Description We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test (L4) who can serve as a technical anchor within the QA team. In this role, you will lead testing efforts for complex enterprise systems, mentor and guide junior engineers, and drive strategic improvements to our automation and testing practices. You will be expected to bring deep expertise in UI automation, API testing, and ideally performance testing, while operating with a high degree of autonomy and cross-team influence. This role requires close collaboration with teams across Canada, the UK, and India. To accommodate the time zone differences, you will be expected to work from 12 PM to 9 PM IST. What You’ll Be Doing - Lead and define test strategy for complex, high-impact product areas and cross-system integrations. - Architect, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for UI and API layers using Playwright. - Own and drive API test automation at scale — covering contract testing, end-to-end integration flows, and data validation. - Evaluate, plan, and execute performance testing to identify bottlenecks, validate SLAs, and ensure system reliability under load. - Mentor and guide L2/L3 QA engineers — conduct code reviews, pair on complex test scenarios, and help the team level up technically. - Champion quality engineering best practices — shift-left testing, test pyramid principles, and continuous testing in CI/CD. - Collaborate with engineering leadership on release readiness, risk assessment, and quality metrics. - Identify gaps in tooling, processes, and coverage, and lead initiatives to address them. Qualifications - 7–10+ years of overall experience in software quality assurance, with significant depth in test automation. - Minimum 1.5 years of hands-on experience with Playwright for UI test automation. - Strong experience in API testing and automation — building test suites and validating complex integration scenarios. - Experience testing enterprise or SaaS applications with multi-tenant, multi-integration architectures. - Strong ownership mindset — ability to operate independently and drive initiatives from ideation to completion. Requirements - Experience in performance testing using tools such as Locust, JMeter, k6, or Gatling. - Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript. - Exposure to Cypress or other modern automation frameworks. - Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and optimization (e.g., Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions). - Familiarity with test reporting and observability tools (e.g., Allure, Grafana, Datadog). - Contributions to automation framework architecture — page object models, custom fixtures, data-driven patterns, and shared utilities. Benefits - Your manager supports your development by providing ongoing feedback and regular 1-on-1s; we leverage Lattice for our 1:1s and performance conversations. - You will have the opportunity to elevate your craft and explore your creativity with a dedicated professional mastery allowance for more learning support. - We offer a wide range of health and wellness benefits to support your physical and mental well-being, starting day 1 with Loopio. - We’ll set you up to work remotely with a MacBook laptop, a monthly phone and internet subsidy, and a work-from-home budget. - You’ll be joining a supportive culture that has thoughtfully built out opportunities for connections in a remote-first environment. - Participate in townhalls, AMA (Ask-Me-Anything), and quarterly celebrations to celebrate the big wins and milestones. - Our four active Employee Resource Groups offer opportunities for employees to learn and connect year-round. - You’ll be a part of an award-winning workplace with an opportunity to make a big impact on the business.
