Description We are currently looking for an Education Services Specialist with a passion for providing hands-on software and economic analysis support to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in teaching economics and the IMPLAN application to adult learners, writing both technical and academic pieces, and working directly with customers to provide specialized modeling, analysis, and interpretation of results from IMPLAN Cloud. Primary Responsibilities The Education Services Specialist will be required to develop a deep understanding of IMPLAN data, the IMPLAN Cloud application, and Input-Output analysis. The position requires a passion for supporting a high-touch product and fostering relationships with customers. - Become a subject matter expert on IMPLAN Cloud and the analytical needs and challenges of customers - Provide ongoing analytical support to customers across multiple communication platforms, including phone, e-mail, video conferencing, and the IMPLAN support ticketing system - Be a part of the training team leading IMPLAN courses for adult learners - Contribute to IMPLAN documentation of analytical techniques and solutions for the knowledge base website - Research, write, and edit relevant journal articles - Analyze economic impacts and write reports for customers - Present at significant conferences - Examine data and software for functionality and accuracy Requirements Required Skills & Experience - Ability to multi-task and work with multiple software platforms simultaneously - Strong skills in logic and problem solving, conceptual thinking, and deductive reasoning - Ability to explain complex concepts in detail with patience, empathy, and understanding - Strong research skills and experience with complex analytical problem solving - Comfortable communicating with professors, researchers, and c-suite executives - Experience in instructional delivery and course development for adult learners - Active listening and independent learning skills - Comfort and familiarity with a team-based work environment - Ability to self-direct and prioritize with minimal supervision - Located near IMPLAN HQ or willing to travel for onsite trainings up to six times per year - Willingness to adapt and be challenged - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites - Fluency in English Desired Skills & Experience - Experience using the IMPLAN software or an understanding of input-output modeling and social accounting matrices - Experience with other software platforms including Salesforce, Zendesk, Looker, and Wrike - Familiarity with database management - History of publishing journal articles - Background working with customers - Foreign language skills Required Education - Completion or nearing completion of a Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Economic Development, Planning, Public Policy, Urban Studies, Statistics, or a closely related field - PhD preferred Supervisory Responsibility - This position may supervise department interns. Required Education - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Other IMPLAN is a remote workplace. This role requires occasional travel to our Huntersville, NC office or other locations for team meetings and client visits. In this role, you'll be the primary point of contact for FMSI customers experiencing technical issues with our platforms. You'll own the customer experience from first contact through resolution — triaging problems, troubleshooting directly, and coordinating with our engineering team when deeper fixes are needed. You'll also play a key role in ensuring customers feel heard, informed, and confident throughout the process.
