Role Description We are seeking a Power Systems Architect (Subject Matter Expert) to join our team and drive value across the Data Center, Utility, and Oil & Gas segments. This role will focus on understanding customer challenges, designing optimal electrical power solutions, and acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with consultative skills to influence market opportunities, reduce churn, and support flawless project execution. The work model for the role is: Remote (Texas, Midwest or California) (#LI-Remote) Key Responsibilities - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers by developing deep insight into their operations, challenges, and long-term electrical power needs, helping shape their power strategies and strengthening ABB’s role as a strategic partner. - Drive consultative customer engagement and market impact by supporting sales with value-driven technical guidance, identifying solution gaps or improvement opportunities, and contributing to customer retention and reduced churn. - Architect end-to-end electrical power solutions tailored to Data Center (DC), Utilities (UT), and Oil & Gas (O&G) segments, partnering with Product Management and Engineering to deliver competitive, optimized system designs. - Translate technical solutions into business value by framing architectures in terms of customer outcomes, operational benefits, and ROI to support consultative sales and secure market wins. - Ensure successful project execution and delivery by guiding FAT, SAT, and commissioning, collaborating with Project Management and Field Service teams, and resolving complex technical issues during implementation. Qualifications - A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline is required. - 15+ years of experience in power system design, consulting, or solution architecture. - Strong background in Data Centers, Utilities, or Oil & Gas industries. - Proven track record of delivering technical solutions that align with business needs. - Expertise in electrical power systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection, controls, and digital solutions. - Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
