Microfocus Cobol Developer (Remote) About this role: As a Micro Focus COBOL Developer you will design, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications built on COBOL systems that support critical business operations. Responsibilities: • Analysis, design, programming, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of system that supports Point-of-Sale and Batch processes using Microfocus Cobol, CICS, Oracle and JCL. • Analyze RFP documentation, meet with appropriate team members or clients, analyze software factors, assist with proposal work, and complete design documentation and estimates that meet the business requirements. • Accurately and completely develop and unit test software solutions to meet client requirements. • Develop testing recommendations for more in-depth testing for modifications. • Provide on-call support on need basis. • Resolve any issues that present themselves in a timely manner to prevent system outages. • Investigate, resolve and document assigned issues and propose / implement solutions. • Assist in discussions with clients and/or in the explanations of the issues, and recommended solutions. • Assist in preparation of functional specifications for application systems, presentation of system requirements and designs to client personnel. • Develop status reports of development activities weekly, to appropriate management. • Assist with update of report documentation and system exhibits.
