The school counselor will foster successful outcomes for all students through education, prevention, early identification and intervention. School counselors will implement a comprehensive data-driven program and practice ASCA’s developmental domains of academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social emotional development to serve the needs of all students. - Become members of a professional learning community where purposeful collaboration, flexibility, innovation and shared decision making are essential. - Support and nurture the academic, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development of all students. - Participate in all district and school-based professional development, including working with internal (coaches) and external (consultants) supports. - Engage in all district-driven curricular and other initiatives as defined by the Providence School Department. - Follow all relevant District procedures and policies. Qualifications - RI PreK-12 School Counselor certification. - Master’s degree in School Counseling from an accredited college or university (Preferred). - Demonstrates knowledge of content area standards and research-based counseling practices. - Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parent/community members. - Demonstrates communication and group facilitation skills. - Understanding of Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS) and the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) competencies. - Knowledge of adult learning theory. - Highly proficient in technology and ability to utilize online platforms. - You must complete the new hire compliance training prior to your first day of employment. - RIDE Certification Requirements: All Grades School Counselor, Grades PK-12; ESL Certification Preferred. Requirements - Provide students with an orientation to school procedures and learning experiences. - Advise and motivate students in academic planning for high achieving personal best in the overall process of scheduling course selections. - Advise and schedule students into classes at the secondary level (as needed at the elementary level). - Analyze and interpret data including standardized test results for placement, advising and student support. - Interpret, monitor and ensure accuracy of grades, transcripts, and student records (secondary). - Inspire, explore and encourage advanced placement and dual and concurrent enrollment opportunities (secondary). - Coordinate and organize college and/or career fairs. - Promote school and community CTE enrichment opportunities. - Prepare, inspire, and guide students through post-secondary planning and achievement. - Participate and coordinate informational sessions such as school choice, college/career, and financial aid (secondary) for students and families. - Support financial aid education, awareness, planning, and completion (secondary). - Advise and assist students with scholarship opportunities (secondary). - Support the social emotional development by removing barriers to academic success and help students manage emotions, and learn and apply interpersonal skills. - Inclusively contribute to students’ self-esteem building, promoting globally productive, high-achieving, life-long learning individuals. - Instruct, carry out, and motivate students toward the common practice of conflict resolution and coping strategies. - Implement and follow the District’s PreK-12 Comprehensive School Counseling Program to ensure students’ academic achievement, college and career readiness, and social-emotional development. - Promote and teach academic planning, social emotional learning competencies and skills, and college/career awareness, exploration, and procedures. - Utilize appropriate counseling strategies (i.e. individual, group, classroom and school-wide) in order to provide proactive preventative services. - Provide school based support for teachers and staff to assist with initiatives and practices on improving academic success, attendance, and social emotional wellness. - Advocate and accommodate individual educational needs within the ASCA domains. - Practice, cultivate, and model race, culture, and gender sensitivity and inclusivity in the school community. - Support the coordination, implementation, and completion of students’ Individual Learning Plan (Secondary). - Conference with the students to complete the yearly Student Success Plans and End of Year Reflection Surveys (Secondary). - Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom lessons focused on academic, college and career, and social emotional development (at least once per month at the elementary level). - Practice and collaborate with school based teams on Multi Tiered System of Supports. - Create goals, intervention plans, and progress monitoring for Tier 2 support. - Collaborate, refer, and consult with school and community agencies. - Collaborate and consult with families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies to fully support students in their educational journey. - Support students and families with the transition process to elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary. - Actively participate and serve on various student support and academic team meetings as requested by the principal (e.g. Crisis, Attendance, and Student Support Team). - Connect, outreach, and support families and community agencies relationships. - Partner with community agencies and post-secondary institutions for the enhancement of student experiences in academics, college and career, and social-emotional development. - Serve as a resource to families (e.g., information sharing) and an advocate for students. - Be a member of the scheduling team and assist principal with the master schedule process, as needed. - Maintain confidentiality at all times. - Perform other duties as designated by the Senior Director of School Counseling Services and/or building administrator. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm Remote. Must live within an hour from a CommonSpirit Hospital/Facility in Colorado. First week of training will be done in Colorado Springs. Oversee ABA program fidelity, support and mentor clinical leaders, and ensure compliance with clinical standards while leading training and development initiatives to enhance clinical quality and client experience.

Role Description As a 988 Crisis Counselor, you will be responsible for providing crisis intervention, emotional support, and resources to all help-seekers via telephone. A high emphasis is placed on quality assurance and efficiency for this role. Primary Duties - Offers crisis-counseling services via phones with the program goal of answering 95% of calls within 20 seconds or less. - Completes safety assessment, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with help seekers. - Serves as a mandated reporter in cases of suspected abuse or neglect. - Is familiar with resources and providing information and referrals to help seekers as appropriate. - Maintains accurate and detailed contact reports. Documentation must be completed in real time. - Mentors volunteers during their training process and provides on-going mentorship. - Fulfills continuing education requirements as requested and/or required for the agency, Suicide Prevention Center program and contracts. - Attends routinely scheduled meetings for the Suicide Prevention Center. Qualifications - Minimum of six months of relevant behavioral health experience, with one year of experience in crisis intervention or suicide prevention strongly preferred. - Possess a high school Diploma or equivalent. - Be 18 years of age or older. - Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to empathetically engage with any individual regardless of background, and demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence in the process. - Exceptional at multi-tasking and time management, able to drive multiple pieces of work forward simultaneously while meeting all deadlines. - Demonstrated ability to effectively use web-based platforms, electronic documentation systems, and communication tools, with strong typing and data entry skills required to accurately document interactions in real time. - Have high speed internet with an active Ethernet connection, and a quiet/confidential workspace. - Be empathetic, flexible, and adaptable to varying situations. - Have open availability and flexibility to work within the program’s operating hours, including weekends and holidays. - Be reliable and able to adhere to schedules based upon program needs. - Complete yearly required continuing education trainings. - Have knowledge of all job specific skills including safety assessment, data collection, and triage. - Goal-oriented team player with strong experience working in large and complex systems. - A commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies. - Successfully pass our pre-employment screening, including a background check and live scan fingerprinting.
