This position will also estimate and plan for installation and upgrade activities as well as new customer transition projects What you will do: * Ensures system improvements and/or modifications are implemented * Provides technical assistance regarding Disaster Recovery exercises and Business Continuity Processes Develops, enhances, and supports technical approaches that allow audits and scalable implementations of large, complex mainframe environments * Identifies and resolves performance issues * Maintain mainframe DB2 database objects such as tables, indexes, views, schemas, and constraints. * Tune SQL statements, analyze access paths, and recommend index or query changes. * Identify and resolve performance, locking, and concurrency issues across DB2 and related online environments (CICS/IMS). * Manage data migrations using DB2 utilities including LOAD, UNLOAD, and REORG. * Serve as the primary liaison to application teams regarding DB2 logical design and best practices. * Implement and manage DB2 GRANT/REVOKE structures to ensure secure and compliant access. * Support Disaster Recovery activities, validate recovery procedures, and align with customer RTO/RPO needs. * Participate in project planning, estimating work, meeting milestones, and coordinating with project managers. * Provide training, guidance, and mentoring to team members. * Support audit and compliance needs by supplying logs, reports, and documentation. * Participates in ongoing development and improvement of installation standards * Works with project managers in the development and implementation of project plans and timelines * Addresses and updates customer incident tickets and changes orders providing internal management and customer account managers with status information * Provides team members with technical training and/or mentoring * All CDW employees are responsible to safeguard the information and information systems that they use or handle in the execution of their duties. Provide primary support for reported problems related to DB2, QMF and related OEM software products. Fulfill service requests (SRs) for mainframe z/OS customers as they pertain to DB2, QMF, and related OEM software products to include: * Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe software products for IBM mainframes and performing system management functions (software installations, version upgrades, product maintenance, and configuration management), OR * 9 years IT Engineering experience, including 5 years of IT engineering work experience performing DB2 system management functions (software installations, version upgrades, product maintenance, configuration and administration management). Provide primary support for reported problems related to DB2, QMF and related OEM software products. Fulfill service requests (SRs) for mainframe z/OS customers as they pertain to DB2, QMF, and related OEM software products * Ability to analyze and resolve DB2 logical and data-related issues including performance and query behavior. * Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, and support mainframe products from vendors such as IBM, Computer Associates, Compuware, BMC, etc. * Demonstrated ability to manage customer transitions, ensuring technical readiness and smooth onboarding. * Demonstrated ability to execute tasks associated with any customer's disaster recovery plans * Demonstrated communication and documentation skills for working with technical and business teams. * Knowledge of DB2 security models (GRANT/REVOKE). * Knowledge of IBM IMS, a plus. * Knowledge of Assembler, a plus. Role Description Leads the estimating and pricing solutioning efforts for Integrated Facility Management (IFM) / Base Operations Support (BOS) proposals for Federal, State, and City/Municipal local governments.
