About the Role The Network Engineer designs, deploys, and maintains network communication configurations and infrastructures using LAN/WAN and RF standards at customer locations. This role also serves as a technical resource for SONIFI Installations, Technical Assistance Center, Field Service, Sales, and subcontractors before, during, and after installations. Why This Role Matters The Network Engineer ensures SONIFI’s network and RF (Wi-Fi) solutions are built to perform reliably, meet customer requirements, and support seamless guest connectivity. The accuracy of the design work and technical oversight directly impacts customer satisfaction, installation success, and SONIFI’s ability to deliver best‑in‑class guest internet access services. What You’ll Do • Design moderately complex RF (Wi-Fi) channel plans, IP addressing schemes, and network architectures, producing accurate Bills of Materials following site surveys or provided customer information • Ensure network designs meet or exceed customer requirements while staying within project budget • Produce detailed configuration and installation documentation throughout the design process • Collaborate with and support Guest Internet Access (GIA) installation activities across all project phases • Act as the technical lead on install projects, ensuring SONIFI standards are communicated, met, and escalated appropriately when issues arise • Analyze requirements and propose alternative design options aligned with customer needs and financial constraints • Assist with training and support documentation for GIA Installation Technicians, Subcontractors, Field Service, and Technical Assistance Center Engineers • Contribute to development of best‑practice guidelines and documentation for network configurations • Maintain strong working knowledge across network equipment and technologies including switches, routers, access points, controllers, firewalls, cabling, cross‑connects, RF cabling, optical networking, DOCSIS, DSL, wireless protocols, and network management tools • Evaluate and test vendor products, prepare evaluation summaries, and support onboarding of approved components including documentation and base configurations • Maintain project status updates within company systems and provide status reports as required • Provide pre‑sale, installation, and post‑sale engineering support • May provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to SONIFI associates What You’ll Need • Four‑year degree in a related technical field and two to four years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Working knowledge of TCP/IP addressing, subnetting, LAN/WAN/WLAN configuration, and network installation support • Desired certifications: CWNP, Ruckus WiSE, Aruba ACMP/ACSP, or equivalent • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills with ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences Together, we can build your future!
