Role Description CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is based in Charleston, SC but may be remote. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the network's security, performance, and scalability to meet the evolving needs of the organization. This position includes responsibility for proactive customer systems and audit support and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation to support customer needs. Candidates with Appian or MarkLogic subject-matter expertise are strongly preferred due to the technologies used across our customer environments. Responsibilities - Design, implement, and manage the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. - Lead the planning, configuration, and optimization of network systems, ensuring high availability and scalability. - Troubleshoot network issues and provide root cause analysis, resolving incidents in a timely manner. - Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and other departments to integrate network solutions with the organization's systems. - Perform regular network performance monitoring and conduct capacity planning to ensure the network can handle growing demands. - Implement and enforce network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs. - Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration templates, and policies. - Mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineers, assisting with troubleshooting and professional development. - Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually improve network architecture and security. - Manage and optimize the use of cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) where applicable. - Ensure network compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. - Provide on-call support and perform network upgrades or maintenance as required. Qualifications - Master’s degree with 6 years of experience (or Bachelors with 8 years of experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field. Degree may be substituted with additional relevant industry experience and/or industry accepted training and certification. - Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. - Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.). - Extensive experience with enterprise-level routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies. - Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.). - Experience with cloud networking services and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). - Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is a plus. - Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or similar are highly preferred. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of network security best practices and experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies. - Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, and WAN optimization is a plus. Preferred Skills - Advanced certifications (e.g., Cisco CCIE, Juniper JNCIE, or similar). - Experience with network automation and orchestration frameworks. - Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks. - Experience in working with remote and distributed teams. This role blends hands-on DevSecOps engineering with direct customer support, audit readiness, and operational troubleshooting. The engineer will collaborate closely with software developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams to deploy, secure, and sustain enterprise applications and infrastructure. This position includes responsibility for proactive customer systems and audit support and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation to support customer needs. Role Description CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is providing an opportunity to intern as a Maintenance Training Specialist with Program Manager, Ground Based Air Defense (PM GBAD) Programs of Record (PoR) and Joint Urgent Operational Need Systems (JUONS). This position will be part of a maintainer training team that will analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, support, and manage the PM GBAD portfolio training products. Additionally, this position will provide technical and analytical support and instructional support delivering New Equipment Training, Delta Training, and Pilot Training for the PM GBAD portfolio. Responsibilities - Review, analyze, and update existing training curriculum and documentation, as needed. - Ensure all developed training material complies with MIL-HDBK-29612/2A, Instructional Systems Development/Systems Approach to Training and Education and NAVMC 1553.1C, Systems Approach to Training and Education Handbook. - Support the development or update of existing master lesson files for each maintainer course of instruction. - Conduct dry-runs, rehearsals, and technical reviews of instruction and minimize training session interruptions in preparation for live training delivery. - Conduct GBAD training course utilizing multiple training techniques and tools with various media with multiple student skill levels and class sizes.
