Federal Account Executive
Commdex
• Own and grow Commdex’s relationship with CBP headquarters, sectors, ports of entry, air & marine operations, and mission support offices • Build trusted relationships with: CBP operational leadership • Field commanders and end users • DHS / CBP contracting officers (KOs) • Program managers and acquisition personnel • Maintain regular on-site presence at CBP locations to support mission understanding and solution alignment • Identify CBP operational challenges related to: Border security communications • Remote and austere environment connectivity • Interoperable voice and data systems • Resilient infrastructure for ports of entry and mobile operations • Position Commdex solutions aligned to CBP mission needs including: Public safety and law enforcement communications • Network infrastructure and systems integration • Mission-critical voice and data environments • Act as a solutions advisor, not a transactional seller • Understand and support CBP acquisition methods including: DHS and CBP contract vehicles • Task orders, IDIQs, and BPA structures • Funding cycles and mission-driven procurement timing • Assist CBP stakeholders in identifying optimal contract and funding pathways • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with federal procurement requirements • Develop and execute CBP-focused account strategies to meet annual revenue targets • Identify, qualify, and book CBP opportunities • Generate accurate quotes and proposals aligned with CBP requirements • Provide monthly pipeline forecasts and account updates to leadership • Monitor CBP-specific market trends, competitors, and emerging mission needs • Partner with internal operations, engineering, logistics, and finance teams to ensure: Accurate order processing • On-time delivery • High-quality execution • Follow through post-sale to ensure customer satisfaction and operational success
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2–5 years of successful outside sales experience supporting federal, DHS, CBP, or law enforcement customers
- Demonstrated experience selling into CBP, DHS, or comparable federal operational agencies
- Strong understanding of: Federal sales cycles
- Government acquisition processes
- Mission-driven buying behavior
- Ability to communicate effectively with both field operators and senior leadership
- Salesforce or CRM experience preferred
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing complex accounts
- Willing and able to travel extensively (up to 75%)
- Prior CBP, DHS, or federal law enforcement experience (desired)
- Experience supporting: Border security operations
- Public safety or law enforcement communications
- Mission-critical or C5ISR-adjacent systems
- Familiarity with CBP operational environments such as: Ports of entry
- Border sectors
- Air & Marine operations
- Existing CBP relationships or customer knowledge
