Mechanical Design Engineer, Program Manager

• Drive the end-to-end development of mechanical hardware components and subsystems, leading cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and Reliability). • Create, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. • Proactively identify risks, mitigate bottlenecks, and implement recovery plans to prevent project slippage. • Work closely with stakeholders to define, design, review, and evaluate product specifications. • Provide technical expertise to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing (DFM), assembly (DFA), and reliability. • Act as the single point of contact for project status, communicating technical and schedule risks to leadership. • Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration management to ensure smooth transitions across design iterations and build phases. • Maintain all design control documentation. • Coordinate prototype builds and pilot/production ramp-up, ensuring validation and testing requirements are met.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design engineering, with at least 3+ years in a program/project management role within a hardware manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, consumer electronics, or medical devices).
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
- Proven experience driving products from prototype to mass production.
- Understanding of injection molding tooling and product design tooling constraints.
- Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, change control, and supplier management.
- Proficient in MS Project or similar project tracking software.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

POSITION SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Stress Engineer II. Under the direction of the Engineering manager, supervisor or lead this position will work with the Engineering team to ensure successful integration by providing stress analysis on engineering designs for components, systems and products using mathematical formulas and computer-aided engineering (CAE) systems. The Stress Engineer II will work both independently as well as part of a team to complete specific projects related to both commercial and military aircraft components to determine stress requirements of a product. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Stress Engineer II will work with a low level of supervision and must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks in the following areas: - Reviews designs and provides preliminary strength/stress assessments. - Analyzes engineering designs, schematics, and customer specifications to determine stress requirements for a particular product. - Formulates mathematical analysis or finite element model of product. - Analyze ability of product to withstand stress imposed by conditions such as temperature, loads, motion, and vibration using mathematical formulas and computer simulation. - Prepare preliminary stress analysis reports and provide information to supervisor or lead. - Capable of airframe structural analysis for static and fatigue stresses. - Perform structural analysis on conceptual layouts as well as detail components. - Consult with Design Engineer to assess design modifications of product based on results of stress analysis. - Will focus primarily on existing products and processes. - Ability to perform classical hand stress calculations, finite element analysis utilizing finite element software such as NASTRAN or ANSYS. - Participates with other staff to contribute to project completion. - Performs other duties as required.
