• Partner with design, art, production, and engineering to gather requirements and translate them into effective tools • Develop data pipelines, editors, automation, and validation systems to improve reliability and consistency of content • Create and maintain clear documentation and best practices for tool usage and workflow standards • Identify pipeline bottlenecks and proactively propose solutions that improve productivity and quality • Ensure tooling is performant, maintainable, and resilient as project scope and team size grow • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and long-term tooling strategy planning • Support live development by improving and maintaining tools that enable new content, updates, and operational needs

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience as a Tools Engineer, Engine Programmer, or similar role
  • Strong experience building developer tools, pipelines, or editors used by designers and/or artists in production
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, maintainable systems design, and data-driven workflows
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and problem-solving skills with a focus on improving developer experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build tools that are intuitive and actually used
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, globally distributed studio
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to gather requirements and iterate with stakeholders.

This role is not a traditional HMI or panel-screen configuration position.
