We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a full-stack team building Affirm Card customer experiences. You will partner closely with Product, Design, and Analytics to ship customer-facing features while raising the bar on quality, reliability, and engineering fundamentals. What You'll Do - Lead and coach a team of engineers building customer experiences across React Native and supporting backend services. - Own delivery for your team’s roadmap. Drive planning, execution, and clear stakeholder communication. - Partner with Product, Design, and Analytics to define goals, success metrics, and priorities for Card Experience. - Maintain a high bar for engineering excellence, including system design, code quality, testing strategy, observability, and operational readiness. - Build healthy team processes and a strong feedback culture that supports sustained execution and team health. - Hire and develop talent. What We Look For - Typically 6-8+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years managing engineers (or equivalent leadership experience). - Experience delivering consumer-facing software and driving execution through ambiguity. - Experience building with React Native (or leading teams transitioning to it). - Technical depth sufficient to guide architecture and quality decisions, and to hold a high bar on engineering practices. - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence across teams. - Hands-on technical leadership: Expectation to stay close to the code and architecture, including doing design/code reviews, pairing when useful, and contributing directly as needed to unblock delivery and maintain a high engineering bar. - This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Pay Grade - P Equity Grade - 13 Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
