• Mentor assigned billers, providing continuous feedback to promote improved productivity and effectiveness of their work efforts. • Serve as the first point of escalation for difficult or unresolved accounts. • Assist in assigning daily work to team members based on priority, complexity, and individual skill sets. • Ensure timely follow-up on rejected claims and adherence to payer guidelines while meeting established performance expectations. • Handle claims requiring advanced payer knowledge, contract review, and multi-step resolution processes. • Submit claims in accordance with Federal, State, and payer guidelines. • Research, analyze, and resolve claim errors and rejections, ensuring accurate corrections are made. • Minimize claim denials and returns due to controllable errors by ensuring correct submissions. • Stay current with payer updates and process changes for precise claim management. • Work with client departments on trends for rejections reduction and faster payments. • Communicate payer-specific issues to the team and management. • Lead and contribute to daily shift briefings. • Support onboarding new hires. • Perform additional assigned tasks as required.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
- HFMA CRCR certification or completion of certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in billing initial claims for either hospital or physician (HCFA1500/UB04) and fixing rejections, holds within the clearinghouse and/or host systems
- Prior mentoring experience.
- Certified Professional Biller (CPD) billing certification preferred.
- Experience using clearing houses systems such as Waystar, Quadex, SSi or similar platforms for billing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and various desktop applications.
- Knowledge of coding guidelines for claim errors.
- Understanding of Healthcare Revenue Cycle administration rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes as well as CPT/HCPCS codes.
- Strong investigative skills to identify and resolve reasons for non-payment on medical accounts.
- Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office Suite/Teams, with experience using GoToMeeting/Zoom.
- Ability to make informed decisions and take appropriate action.

The role We’re looking for a Freight Audit Analyst to help ensure the financial accuracy and health of Curri’s invoicing operations. This role is responsible for investigating rejected invoices, identifying root causes of billing discrepancies, and ensuring corrected invoices are compliant with customer contracts and billing policies. What you will do - Audit and investigate rejected freight invoices to ensure compliance with customer billing policies and contracted rates. - Compile and analyze rejection data across multiple customers (including US Bank–managed accounts and AFS) and maintain a consolidated tracking system for ongoing analysis. - Identify the root cause of billing discrepancies by comparing Curri charges against customer contract terms and submitted documentation. - Collaborate with internal teams—including operations, product, and sales—as well as external stakeholders to resolve billing issues and resubmit corrected invoices. - Communicate with carriers to gather documentation, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain strong operational relationships. - Coordinate calls or meetings with carriers and partners when necessary to resolve complex billing issues efficiently. - Analyze rejection patterns related to volume, service charges, or incorrect billing and recommend process improvements. - Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements and communicate findings to operations and product teams. - Generate regular reports on freight audit findings, cost savings, and key performance indicators (KPIs). - Escalate recurring audit issues to product teams to support automation and prevent future billing errors. - Monitor reporting systems and run queries to ensure invoices are imported and processed daily, minimizing delays in the billing cycle. What you need to have - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis on complex billing issues. - Working knowledge of Curri’s operations and administrative workflows, including how deliveries and routes function within the platform. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. - Ability to independently investigate issues and drive them through to resolution. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. - Experience working with large datasets or analytics tools such as Metabase, or willingness to learn. - SQL experience is a plus. Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: POSITION PURPOSE Work Remote Position (Pay Range: $17.1538-$25.7307) Performs day-to-day activities required to process credit account balances from patients and insurances within the Hospital and/or Medical Group revenue operations ($3-5B NPR) of a Patient Business Services (PBS) location. Serves as a member of a team at an assigned PBS location responsible for reducing patient balance account receivable credits and coordinating with the customer service team to communicate to patients regarding overpayments. Responsibilities require expertise in determining the root cause of credit balances and in taking the appropriate steps to resolve issues resulting in full adjudication of an account. Work activities include posting patient balance refunds and rebilling claims as needed to maintain manageable credit accounts receivable and to ensure accurate submission of claims and patient statements. This position reports directly to the Supervisor Payment Posting. Performs processes related cash posting to ensure such activities are submitted timely, tracked, trended and reported to key stakeholders.
