Job Description

AI Intern – Functional Operations and Enablement

Agilent Technologies

• Support the lifecycle management, optimization, testing, and adoption of functional chatbots. • Develop real-world user scenarios to test chatbot performance. • Conduct structured testing prior to releases and updates. • Evaluate response accuracy, tone, compliance, and workflow alignment. • Document defects, gaps, and improvement recommendations. • Monitor bot analytics (usage, resolution rate, fallback frequency). • Identify conversation breakdown points. • Recommend prompt refinements and workflow improvements. • Assist in continuous improvement cycles. • Draft update summaries for business stakeholders. • Support go-live communications and release notes. • Create simple job aids or FAQs to support end users. • Assist in training sessions or demo walkthroughs. • Maintain chatbot documentation (flows, prompts, updates). • Support version tracking and change logs.

Job Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write crisp summaries for non-technical leaders.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools and prompt behavior (why outputs vary, how prompts shape responses).
  • Ability to create structured test cases, document issues, and manage a backlog with discipline.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with Sheets/Excel and basic reporting.
  • Experience with QA/UAT, analytics, product ops, research, or technical writing (preferred).
  • Familiarity with retrieval vs generation, grounding, hallucinations, and guardrails (preferred).
  • Exposure to knowledge bases/RAG, search relevance, or evaluation scoring/rubrics (preferred).
  • Basic scripting (Python) for organizing test data (nice-to-have, not required).

Role Description The Technology & Engineering department at Future offers a collaborative, collegiate environment focused on delivering, well-engineered, and scalable solutions. We host regular hack days, emphasise best practices through technology-oriented guilds, and prioritise personal development with resources for learning. This is a role within the new "Lab Squad" dedicated to building Open Platform (internally "Ember"), a scalable, creator-first ecosystem. As the AI Engineer, Open Platform, you will be the primary driver for designing and implementing the Auto-Moderation Service and other AI-driven capabilities that enable us to scale from dozens to thousands of creators safely. Your work will directly automate content, ensure brand safety, and improve creator workflows using LLMs and automation frameworks. You will report into the Tech Lead and work with Full Stack Developers to embed intelligent agents and automated decision-making directly into the platform's core architecture. Qualifications - Experience operating at a Mid to Senior level in a relevant technical role (Automation, Software Engineering, AI/ML Engineering). - Hands-on experience applying AI/ML concepts (specifically NLP, LLMs, embeddings, and RAG) to solve practical business problems. - Expertise in designing autonomous agent architectures, including agent memory, strict safety guardrails, and task performance. - Experience designing and implementing process automation solutions using workflow tools (especially Temporal.io, n8n) or custom scripting. - Proficiency in Python (for AI/ML services) and TypeScript/Node.js (for integration). - Understanding of modern best practices: version control (Git), CI/CD principles, automated testing, and writing clean, maintainable code. - Ability to design AI services that integrate cleanly with modern web architectures (REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices) and existing platforms. - Identify opportunities to automate personal workflows and tasks, showcasing a commitment to efficiency through the use of AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, and Bolt). - A customer-centric mindset, empathy for end-user needs, and a coaching approach with a willingness to share knowledge. Your mission is to bring intelligence to our email marketing by optimising and integrating Advisor, Future's proprietary AI recommendation engine. You will ensure that every email we send—whether a newsletter or a marketing trigger—contains hyper-personalised content tailored to the individual user's interests and behaviours. You will report into the Tech lead, and work alongside our Full Stack Developers and Data Engineers to bridge the gap between our Single Customer View (SCV) data and the final email content, enabling "Next Best Action" decision-making at scale.
