The Role We are seeking to hire a Group Manager - GM Energy, Direct Sales to lead and scale our direct sales team of Home Energy Consultants (HECs). This role is responsible for managing the direct sales strategy, team and growth of our bi-directional home energy equipment product portfolio. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong relationships with our GTM and delivery channels, and establishing GM Energy as a leader in the EV home energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy and EV markets, a proven track record in B2C sales, and exceptional leadership capabilities. This position reports to the GM Energy - Head of Sales Conversion. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) - Scale and optimize the Direct Sales organization to support rapid customer growth and increased sales volume - Achieve and exceed sales targets by implementing data-driven sales processes, optimizing funnel efficiency, and continuously improving team productivity and customer engagement - Develop and refine sales playbooks, talk tracks, and objection-handling frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality customer interactions across all HEC interactions - Lead the go-to-market strategy for GM Energy's new finance lease product , including pricing enablement, customer value positioning, sales training and integration into the broader residential energy product portfolio - Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and budget planning with a heightened focus on scaling efficiency and optimizing cost per acquisition. - Develop and manage sales compensation and incentive programs - Collaborate with GTM, Dealer Sales, and Marketing teams to align on customer incentives, customer activation strategies, and greater market penetration - Partner closely with Sales Operations and Sales Enablement to deploy new sales tools, automation, and CRM enhancements that streamline workflows and improve forecasting accuracy. - Leverage CRM, analytics tools, and performance dashboards to identify trends, coach the team and drive continuous improvement in sales cycle time and conversion - Provide market intelligence and customer insights to inform product development, finance product enhancements, and marketing campaigns - Ensure an exceptional customer experience (CX) by monitoring team performance, coaching to quality standards, and partnering with CX teams to resolve issues and elevate the end-to-end customer journey. - Build a strong, high performance team culture rooted in coaching, accountability, and ongoing development Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience. - 5-7+ years experience leading and scaling a direct to consumer sales team. Sales experience with residential home energy products such as solar or energy storage is preferred. - Relentless drive for results in a complex, ever-changing environment with a high level of integrity. - Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships across an organization. - Experience working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is preferred. - Expert-level knowledge of EVs, EV Charging Networks, Home EV Charging products and Installation services. - A prolific communicator with highly proficient presentation skills and strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills. - Strong intellectual horsepower and proven ability to take complex technical product offerings and simplify them for consumers and sales teams is required. - Strong computer software and analytics skills, especially Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and the ability to take complex amounts of data and develop key insights and actions. - Willing to travel up to 25% of the time, as necessary to execute responsibilities of the position Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. You will carry a quota, close deals and lead from the front while helping lift the performance of the team around you. This role is ideal for a high performing SaaS seller stepping into their first or second leadership role. Typical deal sizes range from $3K to $10K ARR in a high velocity sales motion. If you prefer managing dashboards instead of selling to customers, this role will not be the right fit.
