Senior 401k Payroll Contribution Specialist

Role Description The position assists with the ongoing administration of tax reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance related to taxes. The incumbent's primary role will be to audit all appropriate withholding tax returns, maintain system withholding and accounting tables, and monitor compliance with all employment tax jurisdictions. Additionally, the incumbent may be responsible for reconciling all payroll related suspense accounts and reporting on outstanding balances regularly. The incumbent will also assist in resolving any tax matters that may arise from a company or associate perspective. This position is remote (within the U.S.A.) and does not require regular in-office presence. - As a subject matter expert (SME), provide knowledge and guidance related to all payroll processing matters. - Independently take on tasks and responsibilities where help is needed on the team. - Develop new technical skills and expand knowledge of our systems and recordkeeping software to find better ways to service our clients and adapt to system changes and upgrades. - Download, reconcile, and track receipt of deposits for payroll files transmitted by plans sponsors and vendors via the web. - Process payrolls and execute trades via Relius recordkeeping system. - Resolve issues related to payroll processing, including under or over funding, eligibility, statutory limits, employer contributions, and loan payments. - Complete all year-end processing requirements to complete plan year including final reports, transactions, and census updates. - Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with plan sponsors as well as client services by staying vigilant in communicating and following up on any outstanding payroll items. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. - 1-3 years 401k Retirement Experience required. - 3-5 years 401k Retirement Experience preferred. - Relius proficiency preferred. - Intermediate Excel skills required.
