Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, this role drives cloud strategy, enables modernization of core systems, and provides expert guidance on platforms, automation, security, and reliability. What You Will Do: - Collaborate with Corporate IT leadership to define and execute cloud and infrastructure strategies aligned to business goals. - Design, implement, and support cloud-based solutions (primarily Azure and AWS), including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services. - Administer and optimize cloud environments, including cost management, performance tuning, observability, and backup/recovery. - Ensure cloud and on‑prem infrastructure adhere to security, compliance, and governance requirements (identity, access, network segmentation, encryption, logging). - Lead or participate in cloud migration and modernization efforts (server workloads, applications, and services). - Act as the primary liaison for cloud-based systems within IT, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors/partners. - Partner with key business and IT stakeholders to develop roadmaps and proposals for new cloud and infrastructure services. - Manage multiple initiatives concurrently, including planning, task tracking, and status communication. - Administer and support Azure AD / Entra ID, including identity, groups, roles, conditional access, and SSO integrations. - Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, Teams Phone, SharePoint Online, and related workloads. - Manage Microsoft licensing assignments and optimization across M365 and related products. - Administer and maintain VMware virtualization platforms, including provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management. - Administer Windows Server (2016, 2019, and newer where applicable) and Linux servers, including patching, hardening, and troubleshooting. - Develop and maintain automation and tooling using PowerShell and other scripting languages to streamline operations. - Integrate and consume APIs for system automation, monitoring, and data exchange between platforms. - Provide advanced support for Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related core services. - Manage and secure file services and network shares, including permissions and access control models. - Utilize and contribute to IT service management processes using an ITIL-aligned ticketing system (Ivanti Service Desk or similar). - Collaborate with the Network team on connectivity, routing, VPN, and cloud networking design (VNETs, subnets, security groups, firewalls). - Assist with configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices for campus and remote site networking (Aruba or Cisco switching/wireless) as it relates to server and cloud connectivity. - Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to critical incidents, including after-hours emergencies. - Be able to travel to or work onsite at company locations as required. Who You Are: - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. - Demonstrated experience in a cloud-centric systems engineering role (Azure and/or AWS) supporting production environments. - Solid experience with Windows Server and Linux administration in virtualized and/or cloud environments. - Hands-on experience with VMware administration in an enterprise setting. - Proficiency with PowerShell for automation, configuration, and operational scripting; experience with other scripting languages a plus. - Strong understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, VPN, DNS, DHCP, firewalls) and experience with enterprise networking platforms; Aruba or Cisco switching/wireless experience strongly preferred. - Experience administering Azure AD / Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, and related Microsoft cloud services. - Familiarity with ITIL practices and working within a structured ticketing and change management environment. - Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive initiatives to completion in a distributed/remote team. - Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation for critical incidents. - A proactive, ownership mindset with a strong focus on reliability, security, and continuous improvement.
