Job Description

Health Information Management Policy Analyst

General Dynamics Information Technology

• Document current state of business workflows, as well as analyzing and designing new workflows, ensuring compliance with Health IT standards, security measures, and interoperability • Focus on the analysis and updates to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, ONC standards, HITECH, and the Privacy Act of 1974 • Provide input into high-level functional specifications • Work with team to define metrics and performance goals for relevant IT applications • Participate in creation of business needs statements and quality management reviews of designs, prototypes, and products to ensure they fulfill the proposed requirements • Maintain current knowledge of relevant policies and best practices to HHS/IHS • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the development cycle • Maintain current knowledge of relevant Federal Health IT policies and best practices relevant to the industry • Participation in special projects as required

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of intensive and progressive experience in healthcare policy analysis, such as 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, ONC standards, HITECH, and the Privacy Act of 1974
  • Experience with Health IT, EHR systems, and Meaningful Use
  • In-depth knowledge of applying regulatory compliance with IT applications
  • Experience crafting business needs statements
  • Experience conducting quality management reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues clearly/accurately to technical/non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines
  • Understanding of Agile processes
  • Proven ability to work on a remote/distributed team
