Role Overview As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will help shape the technical direction of Medium’s web platform and the systems that power our reader and writer experiences. This is a high-impact individual contributor role. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise - You have strong frontend fundamentals (rendering, state management, performance profiling, browser behavior, and testing strategy). - You have a track record of mentoring engineers and raising the quality bar across teams. - You embrace ambiguous problems and drive them toward clear solutions. - You are product minded and care deeply about UX and polish, and help us deliver delightful experiences to our users. - You make pragmatic tradeoffs and communicate decisions clearly. - You leverage and experiment with new AI tools effectively while applying strong engineering judgement. - You sweat the small stuff.
