• Lead and/or self-perform the execution of engineering activities. • Work with Engineering Manager and Project Managers to manage internal and external capacity to meet project milestones. • Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects. • Manage and control the generation, issuance, resolution, and close-out of requests for information, technical inquiry forms, and transmittals/submittals. • Participate in preparing proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans, engineering/project cost estimates, and schedules. • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments within the local office. • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members. • Provide short-term field support during construction. • Any other actions required by management.

• Engage directly with customers; Developers, Owners, Utilities, EPCs, and ISOs. • Contribute to the design and development of monitoring and control systems for utility scale renewable energy projects. • Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission Remote Terminal Units (RTU’s), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), & Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s) for • Active Power Curtailment • Reactive Power Control • MET tower data acquisition • High Voltage substation SCADA • Power Plant Control (PPC) for, Solar, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS’s) • Work with the following technologies and platforms: • Controls: SEL-RTACs & ControlLogix • HMI: Ignition • Historian: Ignition, MSSQL, InfluxDB, and Canary Labs • Network: SEL, Cisco, Hirschmann, Fortigate, and Moxa • Troubleshooting: Putty, Wireshark • Develop detailed design documentation including System Architecture Diagrams, Device Points List, IP lists, Logic Diagrams, HMI mockups. • Generate project documentation including commissioning documents, as-built drawings, operator manuals and training material. • Coordinate with field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support. • Utilize diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot complex monitoring and control systems.

• Supports the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by providing engineering calculations, measurement and verification, and utility program technical design and assistance • Leads design and development of technical strategies, conducts analysis to inform and recommend energy savings, and develops plans and provides reporting that contributes to the success of client programs • Provides general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously informs customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments • With technical oversight, support energy assessments and field work directly with customers and contractors • Effectively apply engineering principles and perform research as required to provide defensible calculations for program work and savings estimates • Perform ASHRAE level II audits, with technical oversight • Develop IPMVP-compliant M&V plans and reports, with technical oversight • Develop tools and calculators for use in our programs, with technical oversight • Provide design recommendations for prescriptive projects in our programs; develop effective technical training materials related to prescriptive measures • Review filings, utility commission documents, and evaluator documents for technical accuracy and sound engineering practices; communicate findings and recommendations to more senior engineers and program staff • Utilize software for projects with increasing complexity, such as reviewing energy simulation projects for buildings with complex HVAC systems • Prioritize safety in all actions and tasks • Analyze energy consumption data, identify trends, and develop strategies to optimize energy usage, Identify, lead, and qualify custom/M&V projects

Additionally you will build up the team’s abilities by mentoring other software engineers to improve code quality, leverage AI for development and also working with them to organize their work. We use Kiro (kiro.dev) as our standard AI-powered IDE, leveraging the latest Claude models from Anthropic to support design, development, and testing. In this role, engineers are expected to take an AI-first approach to their work and have experience crafting effective prompts, iterating with AI on design and specifications, managing context files, integrating with MCP servers, and reviewing AI-generated code and selected libraries.
