Position Overview RIVA Solutions is seeking Systems Administration specialists to provide technical engineering and operations support to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the NEITS program. This role directly supports NOAA’s N-Wave mission—an enterprise high-performance network connecting research centers, observational platforms, and mission operations across the nation. This role supports program analysts, program managers, and telecommunications/network engineering teams. The selected candidate will demonstrate ability to combine network knowledge with hands-on technical skills to support both projects and O&M tasks. Successful applicants are expected to possess foundational-to-intermediate technical understanding of systems administration and network engineering concepts, configure products, troubleshoot issues, and support business operations improvements. This position is ideal for someone already knowledgeable and familiar with the NEITS N-Wave project, comfortable working on a technical engineering team while being self-starter to execute operational tasks with only moderate supervision. Core Responsibilities - Add returned equipment back into physical inventory. Ensure accuracy of information entered in the Sunflower Asset Management system and it is synchronized with logistics databases. - Complete shipping, lab and general installations, and other tickets, as assigned, within defined service levels. - Maintain clean, usable, safe staging lab area and logistics room. As needed, expand and reduce footprint of staging areas. - Install servers and other lab equipment as part of modernization and/or periodic upgrades, producing all required supporting documentation such as install guides, test plans, as-built design documents, standard operating procedures, etc. - Troubleshoot issues and help find solutions to systems and equipment. - Sustain technical skills, such as network knowledge, AI, cloud migration, etc. through training. - Support Smartsheet tools and automation projects. - Analyze business processes in collaboration with N-Wave team members in Business Operations, Security Operations, Enterprise Network Trasport, and Engagement & Outreach teams. - Develop, implement, test, and assess improvements to business operations, such as enhancing user onboarding processes. - Resolve end-user issues, such as CAC compatibility, evaluating new CAC readers for fleet. - Support, as needed, other asset management efforts related to End-of-Life (EOL), Out-of-Band (OOB), and One-Way Active Measurement Protocol (OWAMP) projects. - Work collaboratively with NWave Business and Logistics teams to improve intake, processing, and reporting functions and ongoing space planning. - Work to completion assigned logistics-based tickets. - Maintain onsite inventory of all hardware in Boulder, CO. - Synchronize information contained in the Sunflower Asset Management system and the Logistics databases. Job Description Job Title: Configuration Manager / Asset Manager Working Pattern: Full-Time Working location: Remote Rolls-Royce offers an excellent opportunity for a Configuration management / Asset management Specialist to join our team. In this role you will be supporting CMMC/NIST compliance though the application of policy, standards and best practice to support the IT Operations Team. What you will be doing - Manage the CMDB process for Rolls Royce NA with a focus on CUI (NORFORN and Basic) compliance requirements - Control Owner for CCMC Asset mgt and Configuration Mgt. - CM (config management), MA (maintenance), MP (media protection) – Owner - AU (Audit and accountability), SI (system and information integrity) – Consulted/Informed - Track, review, approve or disapprove, and log changes to organizational system Designs and Tooling Data. - Define, document, approve, and enforce physical and logical access restrictions associated with changes to organizational systems. - Ensure that all Changes define these elements, and that Suppliers can evidence that restrictions have been applied. - Review delivery by Solution Teams to ensure that they employ the principle of least functionality by configuring organizational systems to provide only essential capabilities. - Review delivery by Solution Teams and ensure they restrict, disable, or prevent the use of nonessential programs, functions, ports, protocols, and services. - Review the application of deny-by-exception (blacklisting) policy to prevent the use of unauthorized software or deny-all, permit-by-exception (whitelisting) policy to allow the execution of authorized software. - Proficient in asset management and SAM tools e.g. Snow, ServiceNow - Control and monitor user-installed software – US delivery of CUI NOFORN environments. - Experience in managing the software asset management function in a major organization. - Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements, including Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMWare, Red Hat - Identify opportunities to optimize software licensing and save money. - Play an active role in IT projects to ensure effective, optimized and compliant software licensing, including establishing arrangements for ongoing compliance monitoring where applicable. - Respond to and manage software vendor audit requests. - Management of software asset management tooling. Basic Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 5 plus years of experience in Configuration management and Asset Management. - Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 3 plus years of experience Configuration management and asset management. - 2 years of experience in NIST aligned Configuration management and asset management. - In lieu of degree,5 plus years of experience in NIST aligned Configuration Management and Asset Management - In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen (Perm residents) living in the United States of America Preferred Requirements: - Good overall knowledge of information systems configuration management practices and applications and a track record of delivering NIST accredited Configuration Management services - ITIL certification - Communicates well and has the skill to influence through persuasion in a formal context - Broad knowledge of IT configuration Management practices demonstrated by attainment of appropriate qualifications - Experience / awareness of cloud technologies and capabilities in an enterprise environment - Experience in Alfabet (Bizzdesign), Servicenow What we offer We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits.
