As a Sr Consultant, Rebid Strategy, you’ll lead rebid strategy and execution across the integrated service team including sales, operations, marketing, product development and finance to define an approach to retain large government and institutional clients with $250M+ in assets (top 200 clients representing $62B in assets + 4 large case plans representing an additional $110M in assets) as clients go out to bid. We’ll count on you to build and grow relationships with key decision makers. You’ll be responsible for developing multi-year rebid strategies for contract renewals and lead the entire internal bid response through partnerships with cross-functional teams across the organization. Job Description Key Responsibilities: - Directs all aspects of the rebid sales process across the country including working across retirement solutions teams to define retention and growth strategies when client is in the queue to come up for bid and/or already in the bid process (multi-year process) for our largest clients $250M in assets and above - Creates cadence for executing deliverables and gaining agreement internally while working with field teams and external consultants where applicable. - Lead the team through finalist preparation and delivery if/when plan goes to finalist - including selecting and aligning team, crafting position, data and story, preparing finalist presentation team with practice/feedback sessions and final presentation. - Leads proactive strategy development and internal team meeting across retirement solutions sales and business partners to position Nationwide for retention and growth - Provides expertise in RFP response and positioning for competitive scoring and finalist presentation - Works closely with Acquisition Directors to leverage best practices and learnings to put the deal team in the best position to retain/grow clients - Includes staying close to competitors and their offers and strategies to position Nationwide for the retention win - Consult with Acquisition Directors and Finance on similar bids for target segment and competitor insights - Partner with Acquisition, Business Partners and Finance on pricing assumptions - Works with endorsement partners (NACo, IAFF) in advance to leverage relationships to retain the plan - Develops relationships with senior decision makers including consultants, career staff and board/committee members helping to inform retention and growth strategy - Provide key updates and communications across teams including senior leadership to keep everyone informed and aligned - Partners with Marketing, Finance, Product, Consultant Relations and Sales Leadership to develop Nationwide's go-to-market strategy and story as well as representing Nationwide in this marketplace at conferences, forums and other key sales and client events. - Compiles rebid finals executive summary, partners with Marketing on finals presentation, material, packaging, Nationwide Technology (web demo, expert presenter, videos), provides coaching and feedback to team members including Vice President/Senior Vice President/President-level senior executives, facilitates finals meeting including opening, close, and Q&A discussion. - Knows and uses Salesforce customer relationship management, travel and expense reporting, travel management, training (annual firm level, license continuing education, etc.), Mentors other Sales associates, develop strategic business recommendations, product improvement recommendations, etc. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: Undergraduate degree in marketing, business, finance, or related field required. Master of Business Administration preferred. License/Certification/Designation : Series 6, Series 63 and Series 65 required; designations such as ChFC, CLU, CRC are preferred. Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and/or relationship management. A significant portion of the experience should be in the retirement plan sales field. Government sales experience preferred. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth understanding of retirement plans and ancillary products and services associated with retirement plans including Health Savings Accounts (HSA), in-plan guarantee products, stable value solutions, managed account services. Project management skills, strong executive presence in board meetings and client presentations. Ability to develop, lead and make decisions around diverse projects and teams.
