• Design and implement backend services using Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot (v2.x/3.x) • Contributing to a modern microservices-based architecture • Building and maintaining scalable APIs, supporting multiple business-critical use cases such as geospatial data processing, user identity management, communication systems (email/SMS), feature configuration, and push notifications • Developing RESTful APIs • Designing secure and consistent data models • Translating compliance requirements (including GDPR-related data protection and retention policies) into technical implementations • Working closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration • Collaborating with the Tech Lead to contribute to architectural decisions • Leveraging Docker (latest stable versions) for containerization and supporting distributed system integrations across multiple services and databases

• You'll develop, maintain, and enhance the core backend of a high-stakes payment platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. • The role involves implementing critical functionalities including transaction processing, user authentication, and integrations with external payment services like Stripe, GoCardless, and CardStream. • You'll refactor complex controllers, design clean business logic within services and repositories, and collaborate with the Tech Lead on key architectural decisions. • Working with multiple MySQL databases via RDS and DynamoDB, you'll write efficient queries and contribute to robust API development for mobile and web clients. • You'll optimize performance using caching strategies with Redis/Laravel Cache, ensure security through secure coding practices, and support production environments on AWS.

• Own major components of a new SaaS platform from design through production • Build event-sourced, CQRS-based services in C#/.NET using DDD principles • Design clean domain models, message contracts, and integration patterns using RabbitMQ • Deliver cloud-ready solutions using Docker and AWS (deployment, observability, reliability) • Apply an AI-first approach to engineering: agentic AI tools, automated workflows, code generation/review, test generation, and productivity accelerators • Partner with product and engineering leaders to define architecture, standards, and delivery practices • Write high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code and raise the bar through reviews and mentorship

• Develop and modernize software applications using best practices in coordination with a distributed team • Have an advanced understanding of software development methodologies and a proven ability to design and build complex software systems • Contribute to design decisions where needed • Participate in all aspects of an agile software development process, including design, coding, testing, documentation, quality assurance, and deployment • Leverage "innovation time" to work on personal projects and special areas of interest
