About the Role Sellers Dorsey is seeking a DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for bridging the gap between software development and operations by designing, building, and maintaining automated systems and tools that facilitate efficient software development, testing, deployment, and monitoring, with a strong focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, to streamline the software release lifecycle at Sellers Dorsey. Key Responsibilities - Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks like infrastructure provisioning, code builds, testing, deployments, and monitoring across different environments. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using tools like Sonar, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions. - Infrastructure Management: Manage cloud infrastructure Azure including provisioning, scaling, and configuration management using tools like Terraform or Ansible. - Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring systems to identify potential issues in production environments and create alerts to notify relevant teams. - Team Collaboration: Work closely with our developers, QA engineers, and system administrators to identify and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle. Key Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required. - 5 years of related experience. CISSP, CISM, AZ-500, SC-300, SC-200 certification(s) preferred. - Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, Ruby, and PowerShell preferred. - Version Control: Expertise in Git and related branching strategies. - Cloud Computing: Deep understanding of cloud platform Azure. - Infrastructure: Terraform experience is a must. - GitHub Actions. - Configuration Management Tools: Experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. - CI/CD Tools: Knowledge of Sonar, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. - Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog. - Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell is preferred. Other requirements - Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor. - Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps. - Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.) - Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and solve security and operational challenges in a timely and effective manner. - Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of new software releases. Excellent communication skills to articulate security concerns and solutions effectively. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated salary range for candidates is $105,400/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to $140,000/year in our highest geographic market range. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate’s education, and the candidate’s market location. Typically, candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey’s Total Compensation Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan (CIP) that can range to up to 10% of annual salary. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short term disability, long term disability, and basic life. • Work alongside the development and operations teams to ensure speedy and reliable software deployments • Monitor systems and improve overall reliability of the platform • Develop features utilizing the AI coding tool and repository of scripts to automate, scale, test, and secure the cloud infrastructure and the pipelines • Enhance performance monitoring of the various systems via Splunk or other dashboard reporting tools • Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize the performance of cloud infrastructure • Contribute to continuing the SRE journey by suggesting ways to improve engineering build, maintenance, automation and reliability across the platform with SRE/DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code • Develop and code high-quality pipeline automation workflows • Create, script, and run performance tests to measure system behavior under varying levels of load and traffic • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for infrastructure and application components • Ensure that testing is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline to validate system reliability with every release • Build automated systems for continuous performance testing, stress testing, and load testing • Work closely with SREs, developers, and operations teams to define reliability goals and develop appropriate testing strategies to validate those goals.
