Data Center Migration Architect

• Conduct a thorough assessment of our current on-premises data storage infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, and networking components. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical considerations for the data center migration. • Develop a comprehensive data center migration plan, outlining the step-by-step process, timeline, and resource requirements. • Advise on industry best practices and standards for data center migration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and security protocols. • Identify potential risks and challenges related to the migration process and provide mitigation strategies. • Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors to coordinate the migration activities, ensuring seamless execution. • Provide technical guidance and support during the migration process, addressing any issues or obstacles that may arise. • Monitor and track the progress of the migration, providing regular updates to stakeholders and project managers. • Conduct post-migration assessments to ensure the successful completion of the migration and verify data integrity and system functionality. • Develop and deliver documentation, including migration plans, technical specifications, and post-migration reports. • Offer recommendations for optimizing data center resources and improving overall data management efficiency. • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in data center technologies and migration methodologies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Data Center Migration Consultant or in a similar role, with expertise in data center infrastructure and migration processes.
- Strong knowledge of on-premises data storage systems, virtualization, and networking technologies.
- Familiarity with data center architectures, data replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop effective migration plans and solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and tasks to meet project deadlines.
