Payroll Specialist

• Serve in a part-time, non-exempt capacity, working approximately 20 hours per week • Process biweekly multi-state and multi-country payroll runs in designated payroll system(s) • Verify wage and overtime payments; calculate and record payroll deductions • Process paycheck advances, bonus runs, commissions, fringe benefit reporting, and separation payments • Review timesheets and time off requests; resolve discrepancies • Ensure tax setups remain compliant and updated based on employee changes • Conduct monthly and quarterly audits (401(k), benefits, payroll, etc.) • Communicate with various departments to streamline payroll information collection • Implement process improvements and technologies to enhance payroll efficiency • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and related requests • Coordinate onboarding for new employees • Assign electronic checklists, tasks, and training modules • Complete employment verifications • Track and maintain employee demographic, retention, and attrition data • Support system conversions and payroll-related implementations • Utilize systems including, but not limited to, ADP, Paychex, Unanet, and BambooHR
Job Requirements
- 3–8 years of payroll experience in a dedicated payroll function, including multi-state and multi-jurisdiction processing
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
- Experience with Paychex preferred
- Strong computer and technical skills, including Excel and data analysis
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance – U.S. Citizenship required.
