Position Description: CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I) to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment; Seeking a candidate with 2-4 years of experience who is available for up to 75% travel. Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning. Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. Role Description Welty Energy is looking for a Senior Electrical Substation Engineer to join our Energy team! As part of the Welty Energy Substation Team, you will represent our client(s) specific to substation design working on projects ranging from 12kV-500kV. While this position can be remote, the hired team member is to be based in the United States (currently). Relocation and sponsorship is unfortunately not provided at this time. Day to day, you may: - create and modify protection and control design drawings including, but not limited to one-lines, three-lines, AC schematics, DC schematics, communication drawings, wiring diagrams, etc. - create and modify physical drawings including plan and section views, yard layouts, bill of material lists, grounding drawings, etc. - perform calculations such as battery sizing, AC loading, voltage drop, conduit fill, lightning protection, lighting design, and ground grid studies. - perform reviews of Substation Engineers and Designers work to ensure they meet code, customer requirements, and good engineering practices. - coordinate with other disciplines such as project management and civil engineering teams. - interface with client’s engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates. - review manufacturer drawings. - incorporate red line drawings from the field to as-builts. - update design leads or project managers on project status as needed. - perform site visits when necessary. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in Electrical Engineering for data centers or Utility-scale solar and storage power plants. - BSEE specializing in Power Systems from ABET-accredited University, MS a plus, PE license a plus. - Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to data centers and power generation. - Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards. - Demonstrated strong engineering, design, and communication skills, and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think outside the box and solve traditional problems in new ways. - Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, and Revit. - In-depth knowledge of LV, MV collection, transmission line, Converters, and HVAC/HVDC substation design including substation Protection & Control, SCADA, and Telecommunications. - Experienced in the design data center’s electrical building, On-Site Renewable Energy Generation, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), Microgrids, and Energy Storage. - Skilled in designing backup power solutions with varying redundancy levels based on data center load criticality. - Ability to complete work independently and handle most unique situations autonomously. - Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and work effectively in a team environment. - Strong knowledge of data center/critical environment electrical and mechanical infrastructure. - Experience in designing, integrating, and managing SCADA systems, as well as strong knowledge of network infrastructure within data centers to ensure efficient and secure operations. - Experience in vendor management. - Expertise in cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. - Understanding of industrial/commercial electrical one-lines. - Experience with BMS/EPMS control systems and data collection/trending. - Experience in developing MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for carrying out systems operations. - Knowledge of data center PUE and its derivation as well as data center's redundancy requirements at the network and power levels. - Experience with data center mechanical design is a plus. - Proficient in reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation. - Proven problem-solving skills.
