Role Description The At Dawn Streamer Accelerator is seeking a sharp, culturally fluent Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will craft compelling written content across a range of formats – from short-form social copy and creator briefs to long-form memos. You understand how people talk on the internet, not just how brands wish they did. You can write for a Twitch chat one minute and a policy-focused audience the next. You're fast, adaptable, and not precious about your work. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career communications professional with a passion for politics, digital culture, and live content to grow within a scrappy, innovative team. Key Responsibilities - Content Creation & Copywriting - Write engaging short-form copy for social media platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Reddit, Discord, and Twitch — tailored to each platform's tone and audience. - Draft scripts, talking points, outlines, and briefing memos for livestreamers and content creators, supporting authentic livestream engagements. - Develop copy for digital assets including graphics, thumbnails, and email newsletters. - Write creator bios, channel descriptions, and platform profile copy that captures voice and audience appeal. - Support the development of materials for external stakeholders, including reports, program updates, and memos. - Campaign & Messaging Support - Collaborate with strategists and digital team members to develop messaging frameworks for creator channels. - Translate complex policy or political topics into accessible, engaging language suited for young, online audiences. - Support the development of creator-facing briefs that communicate goals, talking points, and content guidelines clearly and concisely. - Assist in coordinating communications workflows across the team, tracking deliverables, deadlines, and approval chains for messaging assets. - Editorial & Brand Voice - Maintain and evolve brand voice guidelines for the Accelerator program overall in close coordination with strategists. - Ensure consistency in tone and messaging across content formats and platforms. - Proofread and edit content produced by teammates, offering constructive feedback to strengthen clarity and impact. - Research & Cultural Listening - Stay current on internet culture, meme cycles, trending topics, and platform-native humor to keep copy fresh and relevant. - Monitor conversations on Reddit, Discord, X, and other platforms to identify emerging narratives and opportunities for creators to engage. - Conduct light research to support scripts, briefings, and campaign content on political and cultural topics. - Help synthesize findings into digestible communications reports or briefing documents for internal stakeholders and external partners. Qualifications - 1–3 years of experience in copywriting, digital marketing, public affairs, or a related field. - Strong examples demonstrating versatile writing across tones, formats, and audiences – especially digital and social content. - Deep familiarity with major social and live content platforms: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Reddit, Discord, and Twitch. - Demonstrated understanding of digital communications strategy, including platform selection, audience targeting, and message sequencing. - Ability to write quickly and adapt tone fluidly – from punchy and irreverent to clear and authoritative – depending on platform and audience. - Understanding of how live content differs from produced content, and how to write for authenticity rather than polish. - Excellent editing and proofreading skills with high attention to detail. - Strong interpersonal skills and comfort collaborating in a fast-moving, remote team environment. - Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications - Experience writing in communications or outreach roles at a political campaign, advocacy organization, PAC, nonprofit, or public affairs initiative. - Familiarity with progressive or moderate political messaging, issue framing, and voter or constituent communications. - Experience writing scripts, show notes, or content briefs. - Working knowledge of SEO principles and their application to YouTube and blog content. - Experience with email marketing platforms, CRM tools, or basic digital analytics dashboards. - Genuine enthusiasm for live content culture — you watch streams, you lurk in Discord servers, you know what cringe looks like before it lands. Benefits - A collaborative, fast-paced environment at the intersection of politics, strategy, culture, and content. - Mentorship and professional development within a growing public affairs firm pioneering new media strategy. - Exposure to high-profile campaigns, content creators, and live media programs with real cultural impact. - Fully remote, flexible work arrangements.
