Qualifications - 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server as a database administrator, database engineer, or database platform architect. - 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales, solution architect, or customer-facing technical role within a software or database management organization. - Strong understanding of SQL Server administration, including performance monitoring, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database maintenance. - Experience supporting enterprise SQL Server environments, including high availability and disaster recovery architectures (Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication). - Familiarity with database security, auditing, and compliance requirements such as SOX, HIPAA, PCI, or similar frameworks. - Hands-on experience with database monitoring, backup, and operational tooling. - Strong SQL skills and the ability to analyze query performance and database behavior. - Experience designing and explaining database infrastructure solutions to both technical and business audiences. - Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple opportunities, and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving sales environment. Preferred / Nice-to-Have - Experience with SQL Server monitoring and management platforms. - Familiarity with performance tuning tools, diagnostic utilities, and monitoring frameworks. - Exposure to database security, auditing, and compliance monitoring solutions. - Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments including on-premises and cloud SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server). - Prior experience with Idera SQL products such as SQL Diagnostic Manager, SQL Compliance Manager, SQL Safe Backup, SQL Defrag Manager, or SQL Inventory Manager. - Experience troubleshooting complex SQL Server performance issues in enterprise environments.
