About the Role: - Setting: Outpatient in Pennsylvania – 100% Remote - Flexible Schedule: 40 hrs/week | Mon.-Fri. - Patient Population: Children and Adolescents (Ages 3+) Required Clinical Skills: - Experience diagnosing ADHD across developmental stages, with familiarity in standardized assessment tools and collateral gathering. - Proficiency in evidence-based behavioral treatments for ADHD, including parent management training, organizational skills training, and time-management interventions. - Ability to coach caregivers and coordinate care with schools and prescribing providers. - Preferred (not required): Familiarity with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles, and the ability to integrate relevant skills (e.g., mindfulness, distress tolerance, values-based activation) into treatment when appropriate. Overview NaphCare is currently hiring a PRN Forensic Psychological Examiner to join our Jail Based Competency Treatment Program in San Diego, CA. The Jail-Based Competency Treatment (JBCT) program, a California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) satellite program, operates as a 30-bed adult male unit at the San Diego Central Jail. Our patients receive psychiatric and mental health services aimed at restoring their competency to stand trial so that they may proceed with pending criminal charges in the court system and move forward in their lives in a healthier place. The PRN Forensic Psychological Examiner will conduct court-ordered initial, periodic, and final assessments of Competency to Stand Trial (CST) for individuals who have been found Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST), remanded to state restoration, and deemed appropriate to receive those services in NaphCare’s jail-based competency treatment program. The Examiner shall hold an “evaluator-only” position to not conflate treatment and evaluator roles. This coverage can be facilitated in-person or remotely. The position is PRN or “as needed” coverage for permanent forensic evaluators within the program. The ideal candidate has experience evaluating Competency to Stand Trial (CST), testifying, working with serious mental illness and/or in a correctional setting, and in working within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Position Description: - Review collateral obtained and provided to the Examiner (i.e., pre-commitment CST evaluations; jail records; legal records; referral information from the Court) - Pursuant to court order for CST evaluation, conduct initial and periodic update (i.e., 30-day) evaluations of CST that are used internally by the JBCT for treatment planning - Conduct and submit CST evaluations to the Court, as warranted - Serve as a consultant to the multidisciplinary restoration treatment team to educate regarding patients’ barriers to CST, prognosis/restorability, and readiness for evaluation - Testify as requested - Participate in education and training related to restoration services and security Qualifications Position Requirements/Preferred Experience: - Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD) or Psychology (PsyD) - Active, unrestricted licensure (or license eligible) as a psychologist in the state of California - Must have knowledge and experience in forensic psychological assessment and report writing, specifically Competency to Stand Trial (CST) evaluations (outpatient, inpatient, or both). - Must have knowledge and experience in mental health/ substance use disorders. - Must have knowledge of forensic psychological specialty guidelines and ethics codes. - Knowledge of evidenced-based and/or empirically informed treatments for serious mental illness and major mental disorders (e.g., neurodevelopmental disorders). - Experience working with adults living with serious mental illness and/or in a correctional or adult inpatient mental health environment is preferred but not required.NaphCare pays well, offers outstanding benefits, and has an incredibly engaged corporate support team to make sure you have what you need to be truly excellent at what you do. Role Description In this position, as a Hotline Therapist, you will support callers who call our suicide hotline by providing crisis phone interventions to military veterans, service members, and their families involved. Additionally, you will use your experience to recommend the appropriate referrals for available services. Remote but must be an AZ resident. Essential Responsibilities: - Answer all phone lines in a timely and professional manner while meeting agency goals of efficiency and customer satisfaction. - Effectively assess clinical situations and needs of all callers. - Provide safe and effective clinical interventions to all callers. - Complete clinical documentation thoroughly, clearly, and accurately, including information critical to data collection and reporting to funders. - Forward internal referrals to the appropriate program(s) with all required information in a timely manner. - Work collaboratively with internal and external clients/customers. Maintain a positive attitude and flexibility to assist others. - Monitor call-in times for clients placed on a 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up. - Will be required to work beyond his/her shift with no advance warning if the crisis situation warrants or if required paperwork is not complete at the end of the shift. - Attend all required meetings and training, even if they fall outside of the regularly scheduled shift. Evening and night hours may be required. - Assist the hotline clinical coordinator in training new staff. - Prior to using downtime for personal business, staff will be required to ensure all program forms are stocked, the hotline area is clean and organized, required reading is completed, and complete any project to benefit Crisis and/or other departments within the agency as required by a supervisor. - Attend in-person meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request. Qualifications - A Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field is required for Therapist roles. - Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a directly related field is required for Specialist roles. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the behavioral health field. - Crisis Experience preferred. - Experience working with Veterans and Veteran family members preferred. - Passion for working in support of Military Veterans, their families, and our military.
