Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. Right now, we’re bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their portfolio of assets. We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from the first stages of consulting and engineering to installation and commissioning, to the last stages of decommissioning and remediation. Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects. This position can be fully remote or based in our Charleston, WV or Reading, PA offices. We’re looking for a Principal Project Planner with experience supporting nuclear and large EPC/EPCM projects. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership for project planning and scheduling across complex, high-value projects. You’ll work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, project controls, and clients to make sure project schedules are realistic, risk-informed, and set up for successful delivery. This is a senior, hands-on technical role — ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex planning challenges and being a go-to expert for project teams. What You’ll Do - Lead the development and management of project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out. - Guide and mentor project planners and schedulers, helping grow capability across teams. - Own schedule quality, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and change management. - Identify schedule risks early and develop recovery plans when projects fall behind. - Integrate schedules with cost, risk, and resource plans. - Work directly with clients and project leadership on schedule reviews, reporting, and delivery strategies. - Coordinate with regulatory, quality, and safety teams to ensure key nuclear milestones are built into the schedule. - Support planning for long-lead equipment, vendor schedules, modular construction, and site execution. - Help improve planning tools, systems, and ways of working across Worley. What You’ll Bring - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience in project planning). - 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling on large capital projects. - Experience working on nuclear projects or in highly regulated environments (power, energy, infrastructure, chemicals, etc.) is strongly preferred. - Strong working knowledge of EPC/EPCM project delivery. - Advanced experience with Primavera P6 and other planning / project controls tools. - Experience with schedule risk analysis, forecasting, and recovery planning. - Confident communicator who can work with engineers, construction teams, project managers, and clients. - Comfortable working in structured, safety-focused environments with strong quality standards. - Professional certifications (PMP, PMI-SP, AACEI, or similar) are preferred. Moving forward together We want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact. So, our focus is on a values-inspired culture that unlocks brilliance through belonging, connection and innovation. We’re building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace. We're reskilling our people, leveraging transferable skills, and supporting the transition of our workforce to become experts in today's low carbon energy infrastructure and technology.
