Role Description This is a contract position with TCW in partnership with Slickdeals. As a member of the Moderator Team, you will be responsible for ensuring content on the site abides by the governing rules, policies, and guidelines. This includes: - Responding directly to reports from the community of potential violations. - Identifying disallowed content. - Working closely with other teams, such as Deal Editors, Forum QA, Business Development, and Product teams. - Responding to questions and requests from community members. - Acting as an ambassador for the site and its community. What You'll Do - Directly act upon and respond to reports from members regarding potential violations. - Proactively monitor for violations of policies, rules, and guidelines. - Thoroughly document infractions made by users or merchants. - Issue formal notifications, warnings, or bans to users due to infractions. - Respond to protests of notifications, warnings, or bans. - Identify patterns associated with spamming and shilling. - Arbitrate disputes between community members. - Communicate with other teams about identified issues. - Maintain knowledge of current rules, policies, and guidelines. - Assist with requests for account closures. Qualifications - Exceptional interpersonal skills. - Strong communication skills. - Considerable experience with arbitrating disagreements. - “Thick skin” for handling disputes. - Adept at authoring detailed documentation. - High school diploma or equivalent. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or greater (preferred). - Proficiency with Google Docs and Sheets (preferred). - Knowledge of internet-based terms and technologies such as IP, VPN, etc. (preferred). - Thorough understanding of the Slickdeals community and its culture (preferred). - Experience with moderating forum-based communities (preferred). You will also lead training initiatives to teach both academic and commercial researchers how to get the most out of using Velsera platforms and ensure user success. You will lead internal and external outreach and engagement efforts, engaging with platform ecosystem and Velsera leadership, and participate in strategic planning of outreach and engagement. You will lead one or more community associates on a case-by-case basis.  Fundamentally, Senior Community Engagement Managers are strong, empathetic leaders and communicators who excel at engaging researchers and tool developers. As a Senior Community Engagement Manager you will work on planning strategy for user outreach and engagement as well as independently identify areas for strategic growth given current active projects and our Velsera strategic roadmap.  What will you do?   - Lead and educate the research community:  - Create content to help researchers learn how to use Velsera platforms including written tutorials and video tutorials. Examples of platforms include, but are not limited to, the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Genomics Cloud and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s BioData Catalyst  - Plan and lead training sessions and workshops for user groups ranging from 5 users to 100 users in both academic and commercial platforms  - Present the value of Velsera platforms to the research community at conferences, workshops, and consortia meetings  - Regularly identify and lead new opportunities for growth across platforms to be showcased (ex.
