• Support outreach, scheduling, and follow-up with community-based partners, local port advisory councils, government entities, and nonprofit collaborators. • Assist with planning and coordination of virtual and in-person engagements, including confirming logistics and preparing materials. • Take detailed meeting notes and support relationship-building with student groups, local school boards, family service organizations, and Environmental Justice partners. • Maintain and regularly update Ports Environmental Justice engagement databases and file systems such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Google documents. • Gather and track data from port tours, community engagements, and FoE hosted events. • Support production and content creation for film, podcast, conference, and workshop engagements featuring program staff and partners. • Assist with the facilitation or presentation of port-related health impacts on portside communities, emerging port technologies (including electrification and alternative fuels), and workforce development opportunities. • Support the Ports Campaign Manager in providing technical assistance to community-based partners, including training related to port electrification, pollution impacts, climate action planning, and grant development. • Assist the Ports Campaign manager in coordinating local and regional support for state and federal policy initiatives, including the Clean Shipping and port-related regulatory campaigns.
• Create and draft compelling, high quality written campaign materials under quick turnaround times, ranging from comment letters, policy briefings, advocacy reports, and other advocacy materials • Research, review, and conduct analysis on relevant ESG policies and/or materials from selected financial institutions • Organize coalition meetings, facilitate conversations, and foster a collaborative environment that encourages engagement shared ownership • Navigate dynamic, complex cross-cultural spaces in advancing advocacy work with local partners in a respectful, constructive manner • Build trust and maintain strong relationships with local communities, allied organizations, corporate actors, government representatives, and other internal and external stakeholders
• Administer employee benefits programs and lead annual benefits enrollment process • Oversee the organization’s retirement plan and manage plan administration • Support the annual compensation review cycle and conduct salary benchmarking • Manage workers’ compensation plan administration and assist with worker classification processes • Provide responsive and confidential HR operations support including co-managing the HR inbox • Contribute to the development and rollout of HR programs related to benefits administration, compensation practices, and compliance initiatives
