About the team Corporate IT drives our IT support, IT engineering and business engineering functions at Airwallex. IT Engineering is the core team that drives our technology experiences from communications and video conferencing to managing our computers, applications, identity and access management. We design, build and run the systems and services our Airwallex team uses to build our product, serve our customers and run our business. We partner with every team in the business, from Finance to Engineering, People Operations and Support and solve problems and create solutions for the many challenges our teams face. What you'll do As an IT Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of resolving technical challenges for our business and IT operations teams. You'll tackle system issues and escalations head-on, implementing robust solutions to drive efficiency. With a strong emphasis on identity engineering, you'll own and optimize our Okta platform, defining how employees access our services globally. Your expertise in access controls and authentication rules will make you the go-to subject matter expert for both IT and INFOSEC, offering a significant opportunity to build a world-class identity function within our IT engineering team. This role is based in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore or San Francisco. Responsibilities - Design, implement and maintain our identity and authentication systems at Airwallex (Okta, Google Workspace, etc.) - Manage and improve our auth policies, access controls and build (or rebuild) a strong access management policy within our identity systems - Automate and orchestrate user lifecycles across our systems and services - from beginning to end - Own the full lifecycle of features and products within this space, from proof-of-concept to implementation to operations and maintenance - leading projects from start to finish - Handle escalations from IT teams where relevant - Work closely with INFOSEC, People Ops, Engineering and IT teams to build systems that scale as we grow globally - Integrate our tools with new and existing platforms (cloud, GCP, etc.) and across our SaaS portfolio (SFDC, Slack, Google, etc.) - Build and maintain custom tools or services if needed to solve our problems - Respond to incidents as part of an on-call roster or in emergencies - Write documentation and maintain diagrams of your solutions and applications, ensuring readability and understanding - Work with IT Operations and IT Engineering to help fill gaps and collaborate on other projects and services - Constantly learn, test, evaluate and enhance our products and offerings - never letting anything get stale Who you are - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role. - Strong, demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills, - Demonstrated ability to write strong technical documents - Expert level understanding of common identity standards, including SAML, OAuth, SSO, etc. - Expert level experience with Okta - Experience with a programming language, such as python, and infrastructure as code (i.e. Terraform) and scripting or automation tools - Experience using and understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, etc.) - Understanding of RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs and common access management principles in security and corporate IT environments - Experience working in all SaaS-based systems and applications - Strong understanding of MDM systems (macOS, windows; kandji, JAMF, intune, etc.) - Ability to move fast and urgently, making correct decisions and assumptions - sometimes without all the information Applicant Safety Policy: Fraud and Third-Party Recruiters To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process.
