Job Description

Vice President, Engineering

LegitScript

• Drive the migration from siloed, service-level databases to a unified data intelligence platform. • Lead architecture and execution of a Databricks Lakehouse environment to create a governed, enterprise-wide source of truth. • Shift engineering from client-specific work to reusable data products, APIs, and shared platforms. • Establish Infrastructure as Code and automation to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency. • Design and operate a “Follow the Sun” engineering model with strong ownership across regions. • Reduce dependency on contractors through structured knowledge transfer and transition to full-time ownership. • Deliver a measurable improvement in engineering delivery times. • Implement and manage DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, MTTR). • Optimize SDLC and CI/CD pipelines to support data engineering and platform development at scale. • Advance Agile maturity from process-driven execution to outcome-focused delivery. • Ensure engineering practices meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 compliance requirements.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years in engineering leadership, including 3+ years at the Director or VP level.
  • Proven success driving major transformations (e.g., Services to SaaS, On-Prem to Cloud).
  • Strong background in modern data architectures and the Databricks ecosystem (Spark, Lakehouse, ETL/ELT).
  • Experience building scalable platforms, data products, and APIs.
  • Ability to translate technical strategy into clear execution plans.
  • Demonstrated success leading distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Strong change management skills and executive communication.
  • Experience managing engineering budgets, including cloud spend, headcount costs, and contractor optimization.
