Job Description

Bilingual Evaluation Insights & Data Systems Analyst – 1-year contract

Mitacs

• Prepare, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources, including large administrative and survey datasets. • Support data platform transitions and migrations by organizing, validating, and documenting datasets. • Coordinate, plan, promote and administer exit and longitudinal surveys. • Assist with evaluation activities, including basic instrument checks and data collection support. • Conduct basic descriptive analysis and support qualitative coding and synthesis. • Help maintain clear indicator definitions and draft plain‑language interpretation notes. • Respond to and triage evaluation-related inquiries and support coordination of evaluation activities. • Prepare clear bilingual (EN/FR) templates, summaries, and guidance materials. • Help develop and maintain internal survey policies and procedures. • Assist the Evaluation Team with ad hoc projects, including those required for the federal and provincial government(s).

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Applied Social Research, or a related field.
  • A graduate degree with a concentration in Program Evaluation is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of written and spoken English is required.
  • 1–2 years of experience supporting evaluation, research, policy analysis, or data-related work.
  • Experience with data cleaning, survey support, and basic quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
  • Experienced in advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, STATA or similar software and online survey tools (e.g. Customer Voice).
  • Strong logical reasoning, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain data and evaluation concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible, proactive, efficient and resourceful.
  • Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types are considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with and interest in Canada’s innovation ecosystem and innovation priorities are considered an asset.
  • Lived experience or perspectives connected to Indigenous worldviews are considered strong assets.

Job Summary: Solution Architect (SA) role within Belden’s Innovation organization is a technical expert and a resource for our teams as they produce solutions for various markets, applications, and use cases. The SA works to assess, design, develop, build, and validate solutions by leveraging in-depth knowledge about Belden’s portfolio. The SA is expected to lead efforts in developing use cases and documenting best practices, and be a subject matter expert (SME) on multi-disciplinary teams. Innovation and sharing technology insights both internally and externally is part of their daily tasks. Job Accountabilities: - Communicate with key internal and external project stakeholders to detail requirements for solutions. - Evaluate design requirements from customers and/or partners. - Provide feedback and guidance for greenfield and brownfield project designs. - Develop solution architectures that inform product development initiatives and guide customer engagements. - Document industrial network and/or digital automation network designs in the forms of design prerequisites, topology drawings, reports, configuration procedures, performance metrics, and demonstrations. - Validate solution architectures and report results of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) testing. - Stay apprised and educated on industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies that influence future design innovation. - Document standard practices and common designs for use cases utilizing Belden technologies, and actively participate in the sharing of the knowledge to targeted audiences. - Reporting projects and customers’ feedback to Sales, Product Management, and Belden Engineering/R&D. Knowledge & Experience required: - 10+ years of experience in industrial control systems - Experience navigating converged IT/OT environments and deploying tools for SCADA, HMI, and MES/ERP (e.g. FactoryTalk, TIA Portal, DeltaV, Ignition). - In-depth knowledge of technical protocols (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, CAN bus, ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT). - Experience with networking technologies (e.g. 802.3, 802.11, 4G/5G), or IEC 62443 is a bonus. - Exposure to coding in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Python, Java, Node-Red, and/or others relevant in industrial automation. - Experience with data engineering, data historians, and other analytic projects is a bonus. - Proven track record within a systems engineering role in a market/industry relevant to the Belden organization. - Engineering Graduate with focus on ethernet networking, industrial systems & controls, and/or low latency & high reliability digital communications.
